Jeff Marek believes the value and market for Kyrou is still pretty high around the league. Discussions went to two other potential Kyrou trades:
1. Washington - package could include the St. Louis kid Cole Hutson (defenseman)
2. Buffalo - package could include one of Byram or Power
Kyrou's evidently good friends with Tage Thompson making the NTC a possibility. If that's the case, I would love a Kyrou for Power trade and finally find our next Bouwmeester.
Hutson's intriguing but he's a small defenseman - which I don't prefer - and probably has some time before he hits the NHL.
I've never been a fan of Byram, same size concerns and just isn't the type of defenseman that's gelled well in this organization.
In my mind Power > Wright > Hutson > Byram
Blues have shown some interest in Byram. I believe he’d be a great addition as our #2LD. I also don’t understand the “he is small talk”. He’s a solid 6”1 and over 200lbs. He doesn’t even look small on the ice when he plays. He’s a pretty dynamic player. He would be a great fit here.

This is true. I also thought he was small, until further inspection. Not big, but not small. Not just offensive, but pretty balanced two-way game. It's really just the concussion history.
I'm not completely sold on Power, who has a large contract, but would be open to Kyrou for either. Maybe Byram+Wahlberg or something like that.
If the Blues were trading with Washington I'd want Andrew Cristall. ROCK STAR IN WHL. Scoring machine. Having great success in AHL. The Cap's are an impressive organization. Drafting awesome. Awesome at developing imho.

You’d be talking Thomas not Kyrou in a convo for power

Are they trying to trade Power? Byram? Both? One or the other? Do they need a center?

Thomas and Kyrou for Byram and Power?
Probably Byram at some point. Or power. I’m sure they’d listen on both
Kyrou has been on the block for years, which speaks to very low value

It speaks to his low value relative to his average, and how Army would not sell him for cheap.

Still seems highly unlikely that these guys are waiving NTCs to go to Buffalo regardless of who someone's buddy is.
I don’t see them trading Power, especially when Byram can walk in another year and is rumored to not want to stay there. Things are good in Buffalo right now ….seems to me they’d want to keep Power and Dahlin on that team as long as they can especially now that the team has turned it around. They are as good as any team in the east right now

Yeah that’s what I’d do. Big Dmen take longer to develop. Power’s floor is Parayko ish

Seattle would definitely have to add
Seattle is not going to have to add. The entire league knows Army has been trying to move Kyrou. Wright may be stalled in his development but he’s still a #4 overall pick and he’s only 22, not mention that he’s a center. Blues would likely have to throw in at least 3rd rounder to get that deal done.
And Nail Yakupov was a #1 overall - how’d that turn out? A 22 year old who hasn’t broken out yet is most likely isn’t going to. We’ve been down this road before. Don’t let draft position sway your perception.

The biggest surprise and most improved player in the league this year is Mattias Samuelsson. D. Raddysh in Tampa is a close 2nd.
Samuelsson has gone from the Sabres #5 or #6 d-man (and whipping boy) to their #2 d-man.
Jarmo isn't trading any of the d-men unless the Sabres go on a major slide.
Back on topic: many posters still vastly overrate Kyrou's trade value.
