Ive really never understood why we think being matured early is a good indicator of later success. I think the opposite.

I worry more about a Carbonneau being in a mans body dominating kids translating to dominating men. I actually see it as a plus that Jiricek is still skinny and dominating with skills. Seems to me that makes it more likely he translates it to the NHL.

I don't really care at all if they dominate JR because they mature early.
You bring up a fair point, and that's why your typical fan's simplistic view of these things is genuinely way off. Heck even people involved in sport who are coaches/scouts fall victim to the bias theories. But like you said, is Carbs using his weight to overpower kids at his own level? Does this mean he won't get away with it at the next level as more physical people will shut those plays down. On the other side, does that mean he is playing the right way so he is developing the get to the net skillset that will be required and he will just have to be willing to risk it against bigger guys at the next level?
Does a skinnier player learn to use their stick more effectively so when they put on weight they will also have another toolset to develop? Does that impact him and be habit and they decide to never utilize the weight they put on at a later date?

There are million holes you can poke into the "he's too skinny debate". Where there aren't holes is in the length. You can't teach length. You can't change length. You can always get faster but you have to have a good baseline. You can always get bigger but you have to have a good baseline. You can't get taller. So when people present these arguments, and start attacking weight as a reason for why someone should or shouldn't be drafted. You can tell they have an agenda.

The real question is how long will it take Jiricek to surpass Lady Bing's career high of 70 Hits in a season? Idk, 45 games into Jiriceks first full season?
You’re still hurting

Its really prominent in females, a lot of them will be full grown and mature at 12 years old beating the brakes off a bunch of little kids.

They are. It's why Ryan O'Reilly will always be revered as the MVP who put the 2019 team on his back.

"The first half of the season was not a good one for the St. Louis Blues. Ryan O'Reilly never disappeared..."

ROR was the real captain of that team. Everyone in the know talks about it. Most consistent player from start to finish that season. When the lights got brightest ROR, parayko, and Binner showed up. Hopefully we get someone like that thru the system again that can have the grit like a Schenn, the work ethic like ROR where you are on the ice first and off the ice last, and the ability to play PPG like Thomas can and ROR did that season. WIthout ROR, the Blues probably never turn that corner and win the cup.

When Team Canada named Boss a primary leader it must have broken hearts.

At least ROR got to watch the presser drunk while driving his beat up ol’ green truck. Maybe he was at Tim’s sobering up with a double double

That was your best effort after scouring the Internet? Ouch

Doug Armstrong publicly said that he sees Pietrangelo every time he walks by statues….

One. I didn't "scour" the internet.

Of course coming from the greatest time waster of all time on this forum I can see why you think someone would scour the internet.

Two. Show me where Armstrong credits the Cup win to Pietrangleo over Ryan O'Reilly. ROR's Conn Smythe puts any nonsense like that to an end.

Petro wasn’t even on the number one pairing during the playoffs.
Parayko and JBow were the shut down pairing going out against other teams top lines.
Army regrets not getting a deal done with the selfish one….but he would do it exactly the same if everything went down the same way.
Regretting a move and saying “I would do it differently” are 2 totally different things. Pathological liars can’t comprehend that …..

So the player playing the most minutes and who had the most assists in the entire NHL wasn’t playing against the oppositions best players?

Truly laughing…thank you
