The LA Galaxy are in talks over a deal to acquire Brazilian forward João Klauss from St. Louis City, sources briefed on the pending trade tell The Athletic.
It would be a cash trade worth around $2 million, and Klauss would occupy a designated player slot for the Galaxy, sources add. The deal is not done yet, with a final hurdle still in the way, but talks have progressed. The Galaxy have an open DP spot due to the second ACL tear to star Riqui Puig, who will be placed on the season-ending injured list and thus free up the roster distinction.
Klauss, 28, joined St. Louis ahead of its inaugural 2023 season and scored 27 goals over three seasons with the club. His contract expires after the 2026 season.

Lewandowski is linked with a move from Barcelona.
Not sure City is on his radar.
LAFC. Inter Miami. Sure.
City. I don’t think so.
Re: Galaxy to acquire Klauss?
City is missing out on a huge opportunity. Sargent wants to come to the MLS. I know it's expensive but a #9 in his prime years in his home town? Imagine the amount of merchandise and Sargent shirts that would be sold not to mention the return of sold out crowds to watch the home kid play. The ownership is aware of the history in our town so they have to know the Steamers had larger crowds than the Blues for a few years because they had so many St. Louis guys playing on their team. One local superstar would be huge!!
Re: Galaxy to acquire Klauss?
I have MUCH HIGHER hopes for Josh Sargent than STL City.

Give the Club some time to build capital, and you will see something like this down the road.
Re: Galaxy to acquire Klauss?
The Taylor family has a net worth of 19 billion.
How much more capital do you need?

Done deal.
https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/la-galax ... louis-city
CITY SC trades Klauss to LA Galaxy for a player named $2.375 million.
"The funds we receive give us meaningful flexibility, and we’re excited to reinvest into the roster as we continue to build and improve the squad over the upcoming transfer windows, St. Louis sporting director Corey Wray said."
Won't be enough for LewanGOALski, but how about Luca Modric? or Sadio Mane? or Kevin De Bruyne?
