Jr said he doesnt think hes unhappy, but knows for a fact that he doesnt want to play out these years of his career in this situation.
I wonder if jr mispoke or just made thomas current feelings with the team clear.
This is getting juicy

How will history remember the Robert Thomas era?
Re: Rutherford - “Thomas might be the only thing Armstrong can get anything for at this point”
Probably not fondly if he remains a Blue…same with Kyrou

Assets aside, he would be fun to watch on montreal next to demidov

Man there is a lot of over reaction going on around the Blues, this transition was never likely to be easy.
Somebody needs to make sure we are managing a hockey team and not Armstrong's ego and legacy here before stupid things happen.

Yup and they are right in that both him and Kyrou would benefit from going somewhere where they aren’t expected to be the best players. Neither really has the personality for that.Younghopp1991 wrote: ↑21 Jan 2026 18:21 pm Assets aside, he would be fun to watch on montreal next to demidov

Meh. Thank sponsors. Say crazy [shirt]. Get more views. Get money. Or, Say rationale [shirt], no extra views, no money.
Trading Thomas is waiving the flag on the rest of the 2020s unless you get a nhl ready similar quality at center in return. He’s young and under contract. Why do you move him?

I’m not convinced we’re that far away. A good reason this team is in the spot it’s in is because Binnington has been abysmal.
In his 26 Starts, they’ve only earned 22 points (8-13-6). He’s rocking a GAA on 3.59 and an .869 Save Percentage. His GSAA is a -19.7; which is the bottom, with Bobrovsky ahead of him with -17.8.
btw, Bobrovsky has 18 QS as opposed to Binner with just 8.

Over the past 130+ games the Flames have more points.
I’m sure a couple of their fans are saying the same

The blues won a tiebreaker with the flames last year. What an accomplishment.BleedingBleu wrote: ↑21 Jan 2026 18:49 pmAnd the Flames haven’t made the playoffs since the 2021/22 season. The Blues got in last year. It’s a meaningless stat

Correct, it was an accomplishment to qualify for the playoffs. Calgary didn’t, and likely won’t for the 4th straight year.theograce wrote: ↑21 Jan 2026 18:52 pmThe blues won a tiebreaker with the flames last year. Maybe Calgary would have qualified had they won just 1 of the games against the 2024/25 Blues, but they didn’t. Calgary got swept while being out-scored 10-5.
They can’t even blame the Blues being on the heater, because the Flames didn’t play St Louis after January 16, when the Blues were just 22-20-4.
So, whine about the tiebreaker, but the Flames got their skates kicked out from under themselves by going 0-3-0 and being outscore by a factor of 2 against the Blues
