Tank-a-thon 2026
It is time for the yard sale to commence and sell anything worth value… get the young guys up that you can that have a future with this team and try to catch the nucks

Re: Tank-a-thon 2026
I just posted this same notion in the pull the goalie thread.
I agree wholeheartedly. I don't think Vancouver is going to catch us. We are 9 points clear . It's the three teams immediately in front of us, WPG, CHI and CGY that I don't want to pass. I feel like WPG is too good and that goal differential of -4 tells me they have had some bad luck. I don't worry about them. Just need CHI and CGY to win some games. NSH and SEA are also in distance. Lot's of (donkey) teams in the west bunched up in that 46 to 53 pt range. All of them have 1 or 2 games in hand on the Blues.

Yea but if we start trading and bringing up some of these youngins we will lose a ton of games… maybe not as many as Vancouver but we can make it closeGeorge Zipp wrote: ↑21 Jan 2026 12:02 pm I just posted this same notion in the pull the goalie thread.

I don’t think many people here understand just how bad things are right now. Nobody is lining up and drooling over our fodder.
Nobody is going to save Armstrong/the Blues from his awful mess. Kyrou is the Tarasenko. Dragging on for years.
Armstrong is embarrassed…as he should be and the hockey world knows he’s bent over and vulnerable

Kyrou leads the team in most analytical departments. Some teams place a high value in that. Also a team with a very strong leadership group would be interested in Kyrou. I’m not saying they will get max value for Kyrou but I think the return will be better than what they received for Vlad.theograce wrote: ↑21 Jan 2026 12:07 pm I don’t think many people here understand just how bad things are right now. If there was high value, he’d be gone. He’s a winger who plays 15 minutes in big games and who this organization has trashed publiclyBluesfan1978 wrote: ↑21 Jan 2026 12:34 pmKyrou leads the team in most analytical departments. We literally have ZERO idea of what conversations GMs are having about what players.Bluesfan1978 wrote: ↑21 Jan 2026 12:34 pmKyrou leads the team in most analytical departments. Re: Tank-a-thon 2026
The tank is a true way to get skill but it's not perfect - look at how many spots the Islanders jumped up last season to get a game changer franchise defenseman.
I expect Chicago to get better as the season progresses - Nazar will be back soon and Frondell/Kantserov will be instant starters when they arrive. Here's hoping one of their first round picks make an impressive leap like the Islanders did last season.

Re: Tank-a-thon 2026
Looking for insight here. Is this a particularly good year to have the overall #1 pick? Is there a Bedard or MacKinnon in this draft ?

Its pretty wild that both NY teams jumped from #10 to #1BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑21 Jan 2026 13:38 pm The tank is a true way to get skill but it's not perfect - look at how many spots the Islanders jumped up last season to get a game changer franchise defenseman.

No but I really like the top two guys and if we get a top two pick we will get one or the other and picking early in the second is like two first rounders in essence.. but I don’t think we will get better by next year so this could be a 2-year tank a thon so we will see

Re: Tank-a-thon 2026
I don't see the Blues catching the Canucks, who unlike the Blues don't have this fantasy of making the playoffs and started the fire sale, but if Blues get #2 overall I still want Ivar. Blues should have atleast 3 1st round picks, maybe 4 if they decide to go the Cards route and chuck'n overpaid vets left n right. Kyrou, Faulk, Buch, Parayko, Binnington...all gone. Sunny gone. Suter gone. You sign Holloway and Berggren to contracts, let Joseph walk if you can't move him. Get some mid level players to fill out the roster this season and next season draft and rebuild for the future.

Except that we don’t have a 2nd round pick this year.TampaBlues78 wrote: ↑21 Jan 2026 16:05 pmNo but I really like the top two guys and if we get a top two pick we will get one or the other and picking early in the second is like two first rounders in essence.. but I don’t think we will get better by next year so this could be a 2-year tank a thon so we will see
