I know this beating a dead horse but it’s really tough to watch the Blues sit DEAD LAST in goals per game in the NHL this season after they traded their 20 goal scoring rookie for an unproven and flawed defender.

The Blues were only slightly above average last season and that’s including a 2 month hot streak of scoring like crazy. The season before last they were 9th worst. Only slightly better the year before that.

Amazing that Army thought the Blues were in a position where they could lose proven offense, let alone try and develop a defender with the d group we have. LM still stuck on 2 points!

This is professional sports. When you are cleared you play. You play for your team AND for yourself.

If people want to speculate the medical staff is suspect, then so be it. I have no idea if they are or not, but I do know if you are cleared you play.
+1 No reason the team would push him to come back too soon the way the season is going. Medical staff only knows so much from tests so they depend on the players to complete the picture.

Could be he just needs to work back in at a slower pace.
If he came back too soon, I put some blame for this on Holloway. He is the kind of guy who lives and breathes to set off fireworks on the ice. I don't think he was all the way back from having one of his goddanged obliques reattached to his hip ( it might have torn off his ribcage). Those are huge muscles. I am sure it killed him to see the team blow it in the Jet series and I have little doubt he wanted to play as soon as humanly possible. A high ankle sprain is a killer as well. You think it's fine and take one strange stride, and you are out again.
I can''t get mad at Hollywood, I just wish he had a little bit more "caution" in his game plan... but that is unlikely.
He could be our Pistol Pete Reiser if this continues.
LOL! Hiya, Harry! Great reference. I wonder who besides the 2 of us knows who Pistol Pete Reiser was!! CRASH!!! 💥
Me.
Dawg, that either means you’re a loony baseball historian like me, or you’re just an old phardt. Also like me!! 😝
As another old phardt (McCluer ‘73 BTW) - i resemble that remark 😎
Riverview Gardens '73. I might have played Suburban North Football, or HS Club Hockey against you fellows.

Yes, you are a broken record. The Blues aren't struggling offensively because they traded Bolduc, they are struggling because all the veterans except Faulk with a history of scoring have slumped horribly, some due to injuries.

But you know that.

The team has force-fed some young players into the lineup and as a group they aren't moving the needle [yet?]. There is a distinct tilt of focus toward the future vs shoring up this team for this season. Their top-9 centers last night were Schenn, Dvorsky, and Bjugstad/Fabbri. They simply aren't going to score many goals being that weak at center.

But you know that.

Praising Faulk just shows you don’t know what you’re watching out there.

I wasn't praising Faulk, I was noting he's been an exception to the offensive power outage.
