Guy comes out of NOWHERE to totally turn a dead program who had done literally NOTHING in 100 years in CFB restructures a meh roster into winning 10 games and making playoffs if FIRST YEAR. Then in second redoes roster again and ends up with older experience team that is the most fundamentally sound team I have ever witnessed and I am ancient.
without much of a budget he does this and goes out and DESTROYS all the Big Money Brands in B1G and smashes THE mighty highly paid mercenaries of OSU their championship game. THEN blows thru all the big name teams in CFB playoffs including the immortal Crimson Tide and Nike's OR ducks and humiliates them on top of beating them.
But defeating a fellow Saban disciple at the U which had massive budget to pay their mercenaries in at least a competitive one score game.
This has never been done undefeated and winning the NC! Signetti now the New Nick Saban and their is no question and he is locked into a lucrative long term deal. Plus he is not a immoral cheating soulless Quittin Kiffin that everyone can look up to and admire. No one looks up to Lane Kiffin that for mere money dumped all the good will he had accumulated over his time at Ole Miss and now is most Hated man in all of football, college or pro.
What IU and Signetti did was historic and magnificent.

hunter, would you put your cignature on that?
Re: What IU and Signetti did was historic and magnificent.
Pretty sure that IU had similar NIL money spend that Ohio State had. They have big money donors behind the program.
Still a great turnaround and an example of what the combo of a great coaching staff and experienced players can accomplish.

I get what you are saying "coming out of no where" but actually he had a great track record prior to his hire at IU.hdhntr148 wrote: ↑20 Jan 2026 08:21 am Guy comes out of NOWHERE to totally turn a dead program who had done literally NOTHING in 100 years in CFB restructures a meh roster into winning 10 games and making playoffs if FIRST YEAR. I think his personality hurt a few opportunities but he actually calculated his career quite well.

Did he? He was 62 when he landed his first P4 head coaching job. You really think that was his master plan all along?dhsux wrote: ↑20 Jan 2026 12:52 pmI get what you are saying "coming out of no where" but actually he had a great track record prior to his hire at IU.hdhntr148 wrote: ↑20 Jan 2026 08:21 am Guy comes out of NOWHERE to totally turn a dead program who had done literally NOTHING in 100 years in CFB restructures a meh roster into winning 10 games and making playoffs if FIRST YEAR. He was cautious and content and nothing wrong with hitting the peek at 62.onemizzou wrote: ↑21 Jan 2026 00:54 amDid he? He was 62 when he landed his first P4 head coaching job. It’s rather funny that I grew up in St. Louis and that Hoosiers were, wel you know what they are. And now I live in indiana and am proud to call myself a Hoosier.
