Re: GDT: Blues at Oil Can 7:00 FanDuel
from Korac:
Connor McDavid, who is once again tearing up the league and going toe-to-toe with Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche for most points. McDavid has 83 (30 goals, 53 assists) in 49 games; his 30 goals is second in the NHL behind MacKinnon’s 36. MacKinnon has 82 points
They’ve gone 0-4-0 and been outscored 24-9 in previous attempts to win three straight. But what Montgomery saw last week, and more specifically against a very good Lightning side, is something that will need to continue if they are to end this cycle of up and down play.
“The thing I really liked is how well we checked in the third period,” Montgomery said of the last game. “We checked fast, we played defense fast in all three zones and it led to us having a lot more O-zone time. That was the period that led to us having the most O-zone time and I felt that everybody was on the same page and everybody checked really fast. The next step is playing offense really fast.”
That will be a challenge against the Oilers, who are playing the second of back-to-back games having blown out the Vancouver Canucks, 6-0, on Saturday.

sure seems like they're sheltering hofer against the higher scoring teams

OK, five of the top-6 are "new core" guys (Yes, they need to get Thomas back). This should be a great test for them.

I was gonna slap the SOB guaranteed win on this game since Im 3-0 so far this season, till I saw that Binnington’s starting.
Unfortunately I have to guarantee a loss now. OooOoo so close to the first 3 game winning streak of the year too.

Binner needs some help from the team.
In his last five starts he has gotten awful offensive support. Two games we scored once, two games we scored twice. One game we scored three goals, but that was the 7-3 debacle.

Berggren gets his strong play rewarded with the bench in favor of Walker. Don’t get that move, nor do I get starting Binner. Guess they truly NEVER want to win 3 straight. Lol.

I'd agree with the confusion on the Berggren sitting, but would swap Walker with Sunny. Edmonton is a fast moving team up front, and as much as i love Sunny he's not fast, i think it's too easy for him to get skated past to be in tonight.TruBlueFan_1970 wrote: ↑18 Jan 2026 16:06 pm Berggren gets his strong play rewarded with the bench in favor of Walker. How do the Oilers not have a 3 game winning streak?

Re: GDT: Blues at Oil Can 7:00 FanDuel
Despite the change in net, they largely need to score 4 to win games. They rarely win games 1-0 or 3-2, they need to win 4-1, 5-3, 6-2 etc.
Re: GDT: Blues at Oil Can 7:00 FanDuel
Crazy to think the Oil are at the top of their division and haven't won 3 games in a row yet just like the Blues haven't.
Let's change that tonight Blues....LGB!
