Every time I see 89 on the pk I lose confidence.

The way you beat that is crisp passing and selfless hockey. This team has too many players who think they can beat two people all by themselves, so pressure works.

The difference is the blues inept PP, not the PK. Faulk had dvorsky wide open for a one timer and passed it across the ice into the corner where all the lightning defenders were.
This! Glad someone saw it.

Dvorsky was WIDE OPeN and all Faulk had to do was slide it to him as there was nobody in between. Yet he thought it was a good decision to pass the puck back into the cluster. The puck came back to Faulk shortly after and he literally floated the puck on net for an easy whistle.

Next break in he dumps it in with time and space. Faulk should have been taken off the PP a long time ago

I hate their zone entrys. How can you be that bad at getting the zone? It can't be that hard. Other teams do it with absolute ease. Most of their zone entrys are just glorified zone exits.

For who? Parayko? Broberg looks terrible on the pp and has a weak shot.

I hate to say this but it feels like Monte has lost this team. Just do not see the excitement and passion on the ice. Schenn, Holloway, Kyrou, and Parayko as mere shadows of the players they have been the last 2 years.

The Blues had all of the momentum and Tampa couldn’t generate anything 5+ minutes into the second. That’s when they decided to flop. Kuch is a top player in the NHL and he goes down really easy when Torpo challenges him.

To give a team a 5 on 3 on an offensive zone “trip” is [nonsense]. Sure Walker got his stick in between his legs but when has that become an automatic trip if the other player goes down?

Everything of course changed after that

rezero wrote: 16 Jan 2026 20:45 pm This team has some talent, but we just do not play as a team. Too many people trying to be heros and taking the puck all by themselves against 3 people. Last year every play was pass, pass, pass... This year in is all one-on-three and lose the puck over and over.
They have too many veterans playing roles they shouldn’t. Sunny on the PP, Schenn on the PP carrying the puck up the ice where he promptly drops it right back to center ice. Let the kids have a chance. They can’t possibly be any worse than what they are traipsing out there on the PP on a nightly basis. There’s roles for these vets, but there is no need to give them more than they can handle.

Other teams go into the zone as a team. Get it to a wing, they get it deep, then pass back out. Simple as that. Blues have one player take it in all by themselves over and over with no other Blues player every close to being ready. We simple dont play as a team. Not sure if it is coaching or motivation.

I guess we should just be happy it's 2 - 2 and not 8 - 1.
At least we have a lil bit of a reason to be hopeful for the 3rd.
Maybe they can steal one here.

You obviously haven’t seen the Blues PP for the past month. Worst in the NHL.

Faulk hasn’t done anything on the PP recently or even this season. Most of his goals were not on the PP. Broberg looks fine considering he has never been given PP time until this game (maybe a look another game). At least his puck decisions will be good compared to brain dead Faulk
