Each of us has a different perspective.
The Oshie fascination while with Blues still confounds me. He criticized Hitchcock (HOF) publicly, yet fell down on ice nearly as much as Jaskin.
And absolute no-show in playoffs with Blues (30 games, 5 goals, -12), unlike Brouwer (reached third round 2015-16) with 20 games, 8 goals, -1).
Glad he figured "it" out with Caps.
As for commentary Tuesday night, he had good moments, but rambled as much as Vitale.

Oshie was popular for many reasons:
*Obvious skill level and a great all around athlete
* Infectious enthusiam- you could always tell he was a rink rat, just like Perron.
* He was easily one of the top 2-3 reverse hitters in the league during his early years. To see him mow down much bigger players was something you didn't see a lot, especially on a regular basis.
* His proficiency in the shootouts is legendary, especially the Olympics, when he became a national celebrity for a week or two.
He cut his teeth here but obviously grew up and matured in Washington. Playing with OVI certainly helped, but he had the skill and vision to do it.
I was actually surprised that he ended up with over 300 goals, so he had a nice career. Never a superstar, but a solid contributing player on a Stanley Cup team in 2018.

Osh was never a great skater, he learned the game on roller skates. He had everything else though and it showed throughout his career. He was frustrated here at the end and it was good for his career to move on. nobody was a bigger fan of Osh than Hitch and it showed with how much Hitch relied on him every game.blues2112 wrote: ↑15 Jan 2026 18:35 pm Each of us has a different perspective.
