If I were a GM, and the Blues truly view Torop as nothing more than a 4th-line winger, I'd be all over trying to get this kid.

Turned 26 this summer, has already proven he's a capable goal scorer if given the opportunity, and has the rare combination of speed, size, agility, and ability. IMO he undoubtedly has 3rd-line capability (and potentially higher) so I'd hate to see him given away for nothing but a JAG 4th-liner in return.
blackinkbiz, this is not criticism of you at all, just pointing out how much [nonsense] gets passed here without merit and never coming to fruition, ala Quinn Hughes slam dunk headed to Devils.

On the other hand, although we had a dispicable coach/gm that we couldn't change from a Blackhawk to a Blue, we couldn't do diddle when we had Hull and Gretzky. That's not a comparison. We had to smash the other teams to win the Cup, but it worked, St.Louis style. And it was pretty damm fun too.
Very few teams win the Cup without being difficult to play against physically.
Amen to both of you.

I’m glad they re-signed him and that he wants to play here for the next couple of years.

The return for trading him likely wouldn’t have made sense in the big scheme anyway.
