I would trade as many of Faulk, Buch, Kryou, Schenn, Binner, and possibly even CP55.

i would hope that you would be able to accumulate an additional 2 1st rounders ( and other assets).

3 1st rounders would be great. Salary cap space would also be nice

Build around

Neighbors, Thomas, Snugg
Holloway, Devo, Just Carb
Stenberg, Suter,
Walker, Bjustad, Torpo

Broberg
CamFowler
Logan Mailloux
Jirichek
Lindstein
Tucker and Kessel are easily replaceable

At this time Buch you might have to sit on and hope his play improves.
Schenn and Faulk should each return a 20-32 pick 1st rounder.
Kyrou worst case should return a 1st rounder
Parayko would return a young player or prospect and a 1st rounder. Probably a poor man’s version of what Hughes returned
Personally. Would get what I could for Faulk, trading high on him. Kyrou I would get what I could, I still think it may be better than just a late 1st rounder, Schenn I would explore.
Buch I’d demote of the top line and PP and let him sort out what he needs to. Parayko I’d keep unless someone is willing to overpay. If they do want might keep Faulk. Teams need some veterans to shelter the younger players.
Binner I have no idea. But for now I’m playing the goalie that gives my team the best chance to win.

I agree with the Faulk/ CP55

I would lean toward keeping CP55 for sure in hopes he can rebound to closer to last years numbers

He's one of our better players. A lot of folks were down on him. Now he's playing better, so let's move him? Our Blues as a team are having problems that need to be fixed. Not just a couple of players. It's musical chairs right now on this team until they gel as a team.

We can't just keep trying to get better by trading off one of our better guys to try to find someone who might play better. By that method, the new guy who plays better should be traded for some other player who might play better. I'm not saying absolutely don't do anything, because sometimes that's what you should do. I just don't want to get rid of someone and then have to try to find another goalie who's as good. Just slow down for a bit with this team.
The team needs a rebuild which has been the case for 3 or 4 years. Either you get it or you’re in denial with most of the board.

Nope. I'm frustrated too. Have been many times during the Blues existence. But I'm not interested in losing to get a better draft pick either. I'm not saying you are either. I've been around this bemd many times and opinions about solutions can be widespread. Count me as one of them.
Regardless of frustrations, based on the highlighted you either don’t understand modern roster building strategy ie “top 5 picks” or are willing to undermine being a Cup contender bc of a principled stand that is probably very narrow and flawed.

Edit: I’m not saying any of that to be rude just to the point. Very happy to discuss further

The way things are going, it doesn't look like it will matter. Things are working out so perfectly that Army might not even have to make any moves at all and still land a top-5 pick. Worth noting is that the last place team only has an 18.5% chance of getting the #1 (increasing to 25%). You can only move up 10 spots. The Blues are currently doing everything they can to shake the funk from the start of the season and win at least 3 in a row, but are still among the worst 10 teams. They could move Faulk for capital to move up if they aren't in position for the player they want, but if they did that now, maximizing on his current high value, they increase their odds and could end up with a top-5 and more. Then again, it could go like last year haha.

It sucks the lottery could screw up a good bad year lmao. If you don’t follow them it just happened to the Cardinals, they went from ~7th all the way down to 13th. That’s quite a fall that could interfere with their rebuild.

That’s why taking care of business is so important meaning finish in the bottom 3 of NHL standings.

Currently there are 4 players I see at the top of the draft that will help me feel better about this mess.

Somewhat ironically this also feels like a year the best player will be a late bloomer who comes way later in the draft. Maybe we get him in second round lol
