He will have many more this year.
He needs a little more Digger Phelps and a little less Mr. Nice Guy. Seems to be more interested in how his players feel instead of how hard they are working.
He doesn't have the players, and the five he brought in this year, only one has a pulse and that's on him. Add that to his poor coaching and this is what you get.

Can’t go 12-24 from the line on the road and win in the SEC and have twice as many turnovers.

Thats the deal.

Coach back to being the village idiot. How in the hell can you have Mack and Boateng on the floor at the same time…. Better off, how can Boateng be allowed on the court period. He absolutely sucks as a Basketball player- can’t dunk, guard, rebound, or make free throws. He’s a turnover if he gets fouled because he’s going 0-fer at the line, he even wasted another trip chucking up a 3. Same w Randal- what are u doing shooting 3s? You guys came in the game and we were up- you left and we were down.
This is what happens when you flame out in recruiting 2023-2025- two failures back to back in the hs recruiting and another near total miss in this year’s portal.

For some 7nknown reason, Gates put Boateng back in the game with less than five to go… absolutely mind-numbing stupidity from the coach. So glad my wife was ill so I didn’t waste the cash to go watch this dung-show. Missed a great opportunity to go 3-0 in league play- we [redacted] the bed.

Just pathetic!! You shoot 50% from the free throw line (12 misses) and go 1-11 from three in the second half. They struggle to have a go to guy for a bucket. Robinson a complete non factor in the game. He was a huge disappointment in today’s game.

It never fails. For twenty years and more, it has never failed. Every time I think it's safe to start taking Mizzou basketball seriously, they go right back to being the mediocre bunch they inevitably are. MU should seriously consider replacing BB with a pickle ball program. This miserable BB program is never going anywhere. It's a bad joke. They can't even hit free throws as well as a high school team.

The lack of fight in this team scary. Not expecting much. Hard to get invested.

4 things tonight, 2 of which happen far too often:

1. Terrible 3-point D with a lot of chasing the ball and leaving others wide open.

2. Terrible FT shooting again.

3. Anthony Robinson with a no-show. 6 points, 2-9 FGs, 0-3 from 3 and 2-4 FTs. And 5 fouls.

4. Pierce 4-11 FGs and 2-8 from 3.

This game was there to be won. Bad coaching, bad shooting.

FG%: 49 Fair
3-pt: 41 Not bad
FT%: 50% Pitiful OM: 79%
Rebounds: Miz 35 OM 34
turnovers: Miz 13 OM 7
Pretty easy to see where we lost it.

What is sad is that the simps at PM, PD, LOM, and RMN are like 'we expected 0-4 to start, so MU is ahead at 2-1'.

Several reboundable balls at the end of the game that they wanted more than we did. They need to find Boat a good seat on the bench

Stone is the exception. He has energy and knows how to play good fundamental basketball.
One player who has fight is Sean Phillips.
The only problem is it is the "wrong kind of fight".

You left out 3-point D. 41% for OM on 9-22 shooting. Tigers hit 29%, and Pierce and Robinson combined to go 3-16. And how is Stone not taking more shots? 4-6 on FGs and 3-5 from 3 while Robinson and Pierce are hoisting up 20 between them, sinking just 6. Bad coaching and bad PG play.

Theory on Robinson: he came into camp this fall out of shape (or at least not in good enough shape for what Gates needs). Gates is asking him to play more minutes and he isn’t in condition to do it. He looks tired to me. Playing at half speed much of the time and not mentally focused. 35 minutes yesterday and not much production to show for it.

He’s too important to be playing like this. Not much that can be done if he’s out of shape though.
