Carolina shopping him. Would you commit to a shakeup and swap Thomas?

Mentioned his name a few a times before the season started but I think he is a guy we should have been targeting . I would take him. He’s got some grit to his game.
Swap Thomas for him…hell no

Well their package would have to include more than KK but there aren’t many suitors that make sense for either team looking to move a top center.

Im not real familiar with his write up. Frame looks good but stats are disappointing. Does he not get opportunities in carolina? Looks like he broke into the league as a 18 or 19 year old. Did he get rushed?

He literally has 6 points in 25 games. And is locked in for 4 more years at almost $5.0m per season. No way you even answer the phone if they want Thomas.

Now, if they want to do something like him, Badinka and a 2026 1st for Kyrou, I’ll listen. Otherwise, he’s an overhyped and under performing player.

Thomas!!??!! Take a look at Kotkaniemi’s stats and contract. He’s a 3rd liner. I’d move a 2nd for him.

He was a successful offer sheet player from Carolina. I think they regret that now. Never reached his potential.

If Carolina is looking for another lightweight winger, I'm open to something like this.

Nikishin, Legault, 2026 1st, multiple 2027 picks, maybe one of those 2028 1st rounders, Nadeau, Ryabkin (good player, head case?), Unger Sorum, and (as mentioned) Badinka could all be considered in the trade.

Would they want Faulk back? They have enough cap space to take on at least one of our highest paid vets.

What a really bad idea, a guy who has never lived up to his potential for your best trade piece…. Wow, we really need to be careful here if we trade Thomas it must be for futures and legit prospects not suspects.

Right, he’s a cap dump in any deal involving Thomas, not the primary piece returning. But I disagree about trading Thomas for futures…that’s trading for suspects unless it’s a top 3 pick or a former top 10 pick who is over performing.

Tulski promptly laughs and hangs up the phone. They wouldn’t trade Nikishin straight up for Kyrou.

We could use another center after we trade Schenn, but I’d only take a flier on Kotkaniemi if they were giving him away to clear cap space.

He's getting 11 minutes a game when he's in the lineup. Puckpedia has him scratched. They can't be looking for much if any. Perfect chance to send someone like Kyrou, Buch, and/or Faulk for a center who would probably play here and has a chance of being worth his $4.8M against the cap for 4 more seasons through some of his prime years.
