Armstrong
It seems to me he needs to be paying more attention to and doing something with this Blues team instead of being all in on Team Canada. How much longer can he just sit and do nothing ? They are at the point this team needs a major shake up because what they are doing is not working.
Re: Armstrong
At some point the players in hand just need to play through it. This is one of those times, systemically I wouldn't expect moves until after the break and I do not expect Army to try to heal this year's team.stanw wrote: ↑11 Jan 2026 07:26 am It seems to me he needs to be paying more attention to and doing something with this Blues team instead of being all in on Team Canada. Often I've seen comments to the effect "Where would this team be without Broberg and Holloway?" Sadly, we saw that last night. This particular team is too beat down to expect shore-up moves to course-correct. Even trading, for example, Schenn and Kyrou for Celebrini isn't going to fix THIS team. It might help a lot as time passes, but too much dysfunction in the ranks and too many injuries right now.

Re: Armstrong
He should be done with Canada. Roster is set, so burden now switches to the coaches.

Re: Armstrong
What major shakeup are you suggesting? He needs to be honest with himself and not do panic trades to try to salvage the season. Just deal off players who are not part of the core of this team and focus on the draft lottery.stanw wrote: ↑11 Jan 2026 07:26 am It seems to me he needs to be paying more attention to and doing something with this Blues team instead of being all in on Team Canada. We had a member drop 670 different posts this past offseason begging for a top five pick. Looks like they are getting their wish.
Re: Armstrong
Perhaps deeper than surface level there's a chance for Army to pull some strings in favor of the Blues' lottery chances?
I haven't started looking at prospects yet, but if you're telling me Ivar is better than his brother who is already one of our best players, it seems like a good idea to target and position for that player, beginning now/soon. We should also find a way to get back into the 2nd, and/or more 1st rounders.
If we could find a way to land Stenberg and Carels, our chances of survival increase exponentially. Is Jack Hextall worth moving into range to draft? Seems like a quality late 1st centerman.
