Might as well start playing mailloux 20 minutes instead of playing parayko 59 minutes.

DO they practice?stlhooked wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 23:49 pmMust be how they do it in practice…Jeff Goldblum wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 23:47 pm Down by 2 with a minute left and pass it around the perimeter for 50 seconds.
What do they do in practice?????
I can't tell. Doesn't look like it.
Re: GDT: Blues at VGK 9:00 FanDuel
Exactly. What do they have to lose? Another game? Get the kid some experience.Jeff Goldblum wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 23:52 pm Might as well start playing mailloux 20 minutes instead of playing parayko 59 minutes.

I'm totally for it. Let him loose. Let him learn.JR1 wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 23:57 pmExactly. What do they have to lose? Another game? Get the kid some experience.Jeff Goldblum wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 23:52 pm Might as well start playing mailloux 20 minutes instead of playing parayko 59 minutes.
Have him pinch in and blast some shots, but learn the cost of doing that means you leave your partner vulnerable. He's got some tools. Let him work on it.

Feel worst for Broberg. Potentially losing out on the olympics because of a dirty hit. Whats really frustrating on that for me is if it's someone on our team, despite no call on the play we'd get our guy put in the box for 5 minutes. Yet when it happens to us, there is no revisionist history suddenly, and it's allowing to just go.
I've long since stopped watching expecting a win, i've mostly just been watching certain players to dissern whether or not they have a chance to be something here or if they were overhyped, but i'm not surprised down 2 that we had 35 seconds of skating around their net. If nothing else you have to learn from the massive amount of leads we gave up last year that any shot is a good shot when you need to, but that requires brain power, and we don't have that on the ice.

Mailloux’s partner is vulnerable when he stays “home” or plays is safe. He still looks clueless on how to generate offense. Is he still stuck on 5-6 points?somni wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 23:59 pmI'm totally for it. Let him loose. Let him learn.JR1 wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 23:57 pmExactly. What do they have to lose? Another game? All I'm saying is for Mailloux to start using his instincts. The highlights I've seen most, show him with a great one-timer on the fly.stlblue06 wrote: ↑11 Jan 2026 00:03 amMailloux’s partner is vulnerable when he stays “home” or plays is safe. Basically, I just want the kid to just play. Let him absorb the game and use his skills and learn.

Mailloux has 2 pts in 31 games and is a -21. He’s literally one of worst players in the league. There is no chance this is the guy they thought they were getting.
But yes the Blues should absolutely play him because it means a higher draft position and we need to see if he can do anything that’s worth building on.
This team is comically bad. They play slow. They play dumb. They don’t work hard. The most unlikeable Blues team ever? They’ve gotta be in the running

Re: GDT: Blues at VGK 9:00 FanDuel
Maillioux has been bad no doubt. He needs more playing time without being deathly afraid of making mistakes. This entire team plays like they are afraid of making a mistake. Instead of forechecking when they lose possession in the O zone they immediately start skating backwards to get back. It’s obvious they are being taught this by the coach. They are afraid of forechecking. Might get caught up ice. It’s astonishing.stlblue06 wrote: ↑11 Jan 2026 00:03 amMailloux’s partner is vulnerable when he stays “home” or plays is safe. Re: GDT: Blues at VGK 9:00 FanDuel
2 points and that -21 matches the eye test. I thought I remembered seeing a stat line of 1 goal and 3/4 assists but we never see the guy’s stat line because it’s so bad and he never gets any points. He’s an extremely dumb player and that was the big scouting report on him from the AHL!!MiamiLaw wrote: ↑11 Jan 2026 00:09 am Mailloux has 2 pts in 31 games and is a -21. Vegas is probably the only team in the NHL with worst goaltending than us and we muster zero offense. After our top new core player just got taken out with a cheap shot
The day he gets his extension. Someone should have tried to take Stone’s head off.
Re: GDT: Blues at VGK 9:00 FanDuel
It’s the Binnington protection team defense. Another guy that has been a joke. 3 goals on 19 shots, 2 were weak. Then he stopped a few floaters in the 3rd.JR1 wrote: ↑11 Jan 2026 00:12 amMaillioux has been bad no doubt. He needs more playing time without being deathly afraid of making mistakes. Better than last game I guess
Re: GDT: Blues at VGK 9:00 FanDuel
That’s my point. They have nothing to lose except more games. Play him and find out what you have. If they figure out it was a mistake, and I’m sure it was, so be it. They pucked up. Chalk it up.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑11 Jan 2026 00:09 am Mailloux has 2 pts in 31 games and is a -21. He’s literally one of worst players in the league. I just still can't believe what they gave up for this guy. Not because Bolduc is some future HOFer, although, well, I guess he still could be. But clearly, no one else was knocking down the door to get a chance at the great Logan Mailloux. Kid's got some skills for sure but apparently, no brain. I think they could have given up much less.JR1 wrote: ↑11 Jan 2026 00:26 amThat’s my point. They have nothing to lose except more games. Play him and find out what you have. Regardless, agreed they might as well let it rip and see what he has. I mean, I wouldn't care if they lost every game the rest of the season if they could just try to become better offensively both as individuals and a team. Because right now whatever they're doing it's not even worth watching.
Re: GDT: Blues at VGK 9:00 FanDuel
The real problem on this team is not Mailloux, it's the lack of offense. Mailloux gets in the zone and generally is making good passes and getting his shots in deep. If Broberg is out he'll draw more minutes.
