You usually don't. And they won't win. Not unless the whole mentality of this team changes.

I know it can change, but it looks like we might not win another game all season
Re: GDT: Blues at VGK 9:00 FanDuel
I’ve been a fan since 1967 and this is one of, if not the worst “team” I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure they had the puck in the O zone this period.
I still watch every game but it’s been really tough to watch especially the last few games.. I’m not sure they win another game, like you said.
Re: GDT: Blues at VGK 9:00 FanDuel
I know many of you have been watching as many years as I have and I just gotta say this is the worst group of Blues players I’ve ever seen. Can anybody dispute that like Somni or Asea ?

It's like they have no regular plans for what to do in the Ozone. Parayko should be setup 5 or 6 times a game. Blast from the blueline. Snuggy should be taking shots. Thomas, Dvorsky, Kyrou, Faulk. They should all be shooting so much more. Watching this team is just frustrating. No shots and chitty passes, that's our St.Louis Blues.

Me too. Did you sleep through the 70's? We made the playoffs with sub .500 records.JR1 wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 22:53 pmI’ve been a fan since 1967 and this is one of, if not the worst “team” I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure they had the puck in the O zone this period.

Re: GDT: Blues at VGK 9:00 FanDuel
...and I am not saying that each player is horrible, but as a group they just do not cut it. Whomever decides on the strategies in both zones just doesn't cut it. Armstrong is to worried about Team canada to make moves it seems, and the Coach refuses to play different more energetic players in back to back games. I dont get it, but I wil watch the 3rd period and rejoice in each goal that we score if that happens
Re: GDT: Blues at VGK 9:00 FanDuel
I know but I don’t think those teams were as [shirt]ty as this one. Just my opinion.hockey jedi wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 22:59 pmMe too. Did you sleep through the 70's? I've been a fan since my Dad took me during that awesome 80-81 team. Brian Sutter is my forever Blue.Russdv14 wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 22:53 pm I know many of you have been watching as many years as I have and I just gotta say this is the worst group of Blues players I’ve ever seen. But to me, the 2006-08 teams were just awful. Mike Kitchen as head coach. Brewer...poor guy, had to lead that group. It didn't get better until Hitchcock made the team think they could win.
This team is probably the biggest gap in my expectations and their level of play. I expected a transition year (part 2), but an increased in better play and overall team. I never thought they'd be this level of lethargic energy and no drive.
Re: GDT: Blues at VGK 9:00 FanDuel
Any of you stats guys know how many times the Blues have had only 4 shots in the 1st period this season? I bet it's 10 or more. Terrible 1st period team...even worse 2nd period team....and sometimes they try to pretend to play for a lil bit in the 3rd but that's never enough.
Re: GDT: Blues at VGK 9:00 FanDuel
And that's what I didn't expect this team to be. A bunch of no-shooters. It's one thing to lose, but to watch so little shots is just boring hockey.HighStick wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 23:06 pm Any of you stats guys know how many times the Blues have had only 4 shots in the 1st period this season? That’s gay. It was a legal hit
Glad they got a penalty for that

Been a fan since the early 70s. The 2 years after Bob Gassoff died were brutal in the late 70's. At least the Blues had Brian Sutter on those teams. The year 2006 after Pronger was traded and the strike was obviously awful.somni wrote: ↑10 Jan 2026 23:04 pmI've been a fan since my Dad took me during that awesome 80-81 team. This year's team is just not fun to watch. I really don't understand either the offensive or defensive strategies. Back up on defense allowing long extended zone time for the opposition and dump and chase on offense with not enough chase. There is very little physical presence overall.
