Yeah, I know what you mean. Not gonna act like I'm not seeing what everyone else is seeing. He's either ON or OFF, but when he flips the switch, that's what it is. The next month or so of his life will greatly affect his destiny.BluesDom wrote: ↑09 Jan 2026 16:32 pm I was sad for Binner last game and many others. The commentators flat out said he probably should have had that one on so many. There was one in Chicago that appeared he had a clean look and just got beat or didnt react.
He can get up for the biggest game yet fail to win consistently over the stretch. Hes fascinating honestly.

Re: Jordan Binnington
Hey, the Blues were "hot garbage" in that last game. What changed from the Montreal shutout? Opponent and a second period meltdown. The Blues had a BAD game. Binner was part of it.
Re: Jordan Binnington
This sums it up quite well.
For those who want to move him....because of the downside numbers above......you can go get what ever you can and you will be happy? He's gone and we got a second? Joel's #1 for real?
For those who want to keep him.......those up numbers above.......that's what we bank on coming back in spades and when it counts.
Take your pick fella's. I'll still take door #2.
Re: Jordan Binnington
So right now doesn’t matter? Binnington played well for a cup run behind the best defense in the world. Their backend/team defense was the backbone of the cup run.
He also played well and got a bit lucky for the final game of the 4 Nations, but actually has a poor history playing for Team Canada outside of that.
He’s not near as clutch as some people believe and doesn’t have a ton of value as being such a guy among GM’s
Re: Jordan Binnington
He will be forever etched as a STL sports icon but it's time to move on.
And it doesn't matter what the value is. I'd trade him for anything to free up that cap money. I would want to most I could get of course but at the end of the day the cap space is more important than holding out for some big return. Return be da#mned, move him.

Re: Jordan Binnington
Listen…no matter what anyone feels about that Blues defensive core of 2019…(and they were playing elite as a group)…they were no where to be found in the first period of game (7) against Boston…and the Blues simply do not win that game without Binnington’s first period play in that game…can not take that away from him…no matter how he’s playing now…that game (7) performance, his performance against the Avs before the Kadri hit and his 4 Nations performance is what has earned him his big game reputation…I’ve watched a lot of Stanley Cup performances in my lifetime…I’ll take that game (7) performance of his to my grave as one of the best I’ve seen…when the team in front of him did not have its legs yet…and were about to get blown out of the building…no Binnington in that game…no Cup…period.theograce wrote: ↑09 Jan 2026 17:53 pmSo right now doesn’t matter? 100% agree no 50, no Cup.BobbyBlue wrote: ↑09 Jan 2026 19:15 pmListen…no matter what anyone feels about that Blues defensive core of 2019…(and they were playing elite as a group)…they were no where to be found in the first period of game (7) against Boston…and the Blues simply do not win that game without Binnington’s first period play in that game…can not take that away from him…no matter how he’s playing now…that game (7) performance, his performance against the Avs before the Kadri hit and his 4 Nations performance is what has earned him his big game reputation…I’ve watched a lot of Stanley Cup performances in my lifetime…I’ll take that game (7) performance of his to my grave as one of the best I’ve seen…when the team in front of him did not have its legs yet…and were about to get blown out of the building…no Binnington in that game…no Cup…period.theograce wrote: ↑09 Jan 2026 17:53 pmSo right now doesn’t matter? Doesn't mean it's not time to move on. Teams kill themselves all the time with legacy contracts and loyalty to fading players.
Re: Jordan Binnington
But you wouldn’t even have that memory if weren’t for Schwartz. Point being lots of guys on that team did things in that game greater than Binnington. The Blues earned that game. You can say they don’t if … just like for many guys.
Re: Jordan Binnington
Not going to argue that point…you win as a team…and lose as a team. But no team wins that game without his performance…they call it a “save” for a reason…and the “saves” he put on display…because of the lack of performance in front of him in that period…won the Cup that night. I’m not here to say he’s not playing well right now…or that his time has run its course…but I will not say he doesn’t deserve the bulk of the credit for that game (7) win because without him…the Blues are down maybe 3/4/5 goals before Swartz and Petro connect for that 2nd goal…which would not have even mattered at that point in time.
Re: Jordan Binnington
Down 5 goals? Well I’ll just say we watched a different game.BobbyBlue wrote: ↑09 Jan 2026 19:48 pmNot going to argue that point…you win as a team…and lose as a team. What happens if pietrangelo doesn’t score the clutch winning goal that ended the game according to many? Say he shoots wide. Do they still win that game? You can’t answer that either
Re: Jordan Binnington
Shoulda kept Schwartz too. Should bring him back ASAP. And Perron (again).
Schwartz in the lineup: .621 win%, 3.02 goals per game, +192 goal differential
Out: .443, 2.31 goals per game, -29 goal differential
Current team is -infinity and beyond with the least amount of goals in the league at 110 through 44gp, with a 2.43 GF/P average to go with a 3.43 GA.
Re: Jordan Binnington
Theo…I know you’re a Petro lover…and to be honest…I was too…big mistake in not signing the “Captain” of the only Cup Team we’ve had…agree. But you and I both know…his goal means nothing in that game if those saves are not made by Binny. We all watched the game…more than once I’m sure…count the saves…I’m not exaggerating about 3/4/5 goals being saved…and you down deep know it to be true…just like you and I know letting Petro go…was wrong…andtheograce wrote: ↑09 Jan 2026 19:52 pmDown 5 goals? that is not an exaggeration. It’s never wrong to tip your hat to a point well defended…I to you…and you to me. It’s the sign of an intelligent debater…something missing on this board at times.
