Isn't Carels a LHD? Wouldn't you want to grab a RHD when you have a chance?

I see him as a better overall player than both Verhoeff and Reid. We have Jiricek. Carels is gonna be a legit #1 LD in the NHL.

For me, the Blues need an elite Center or RHD, and that is not McKenna or Stenberg. If we have a top pick, and one of them is available, I would look to swap picks with somebody, and then snag the best RHD or Center at #3/#4/#5.

I would take whoever is the best player at RHD or C.

You wouldn’t think it was a blown pick down the line if the winger becomes an elite player and the C or RHD just become really good? Thats an interesting decision to make considering you talk about the draft being the only way to acquire elite talent all the time. Whats your reasoning here?

I'm not sure I like Verhoeff's skating though. I'll have to see more of it.

Carels is 6”2 and will play at over 200lbs. Farm boy strong as an ox but skates as smooth as Jaybo.
Verhoeff will have a long career for sure..I just see him as an Erik Johnson clone…which isn’t a bad thing but I want more if we go dman. Carels is gonna get some real love here when the new rankings come out…he might even get some first overall consideration from a few outlets.

Stenberg 10/10 times.

McKenna is Shane Wright and Trevor Zegras all rolled into one big ball of entitlement and attitude
