He was never really given a shot in STL for whatever reason. Moved on to a better fit

Hmm. Playing on the top line with caufield and suzuki makes a difference. Like it did for bolduc who is noticeably donuts and a minus player since losing that spot (to Texier).

St. Louis sports teams seem to have this down to a science. Getting really old seeing guys underperform while here and then as soon as they leave...

This is spot on.

It also helps to have a defender like Hutson that can contribute in a significant way offensively.

How about Buchnevich on a top line? You mean being with good players helps? Just not him?
