Alarming blues stats
Parayko has 0 goals and only 48 shots in 44 games. Woof
Schenn is -21 worst on the team. Way to lead us into the fight.
Faulk leads our team in goals with 11. This is our second pairing dman who had a 3% shooting percentage last year. (Trade him high!)
Stenberg is best on the team at +5. He’s here to stay.

I mean individual stats aside…
I’d rather watch Brewer and Scott Young teams over this one.
It’s just a terrible product. Worst of all time for me.
They are gross and and it’s had to be invested when every one is waiting to be traded

Nobody cares about your struggles or your so-called investment. But you’re in here every single day posting, so it sounds like you still are, heavily.
Re: Alarming blues stats
Theo- there have been many worse Blues teams than this one. I've watched them since 1968, so I've seen the good, bad, and ugly.....
This is definitely one of the most disappointing teams, maybe THE most disappointing, but hardly the worst....

Re: Alarming blues stats
Softest and worst for me. It’s gross
Re: Alarming blues stats
Perfectly said. Definitely not the worst and I've been around since season one.

Re: Alarming blues stats
Don’t forget worst power play
Re: Alarming blues stats
Many of the stats won't recover from the early season faceplant. They are a mediocre team with little firepower playing inconsistent hockey. Key players have missed considerable time due to injury. They buckle under pressure, offensively and defensively. Players slump, terribly.
We're at a point where my eye is on the young players, the veterans (all of them!) are just holding down roster spots. Until some guys are playing together and clicking with consistency the stats aren't worth watching.

Their body language is also atrocious. Thomas and Buch and Binnington waste time looking to the heavens. Binner does what Jake Allen used to do every time he gave up a bad goal. He wanders to the corner aimlessly to sulk.
I think this ineffective play in our zone has spread to discouraged play by Parayko and Fowler too, and may have spread to even Snuggerud.
Parayko no longer rushes up the ice from end to end . He and Fowler have lost that ability it looks like this season at least.
I’ve heard Jamie Rivers talk about the waste of time making line changes because the players skate slower to the bench discouraged looking. The line changes are slow as it is.

To me Russ, that says it all. I posted a while back about Schenn taking his sweet time on a change and we gave up a goal. If the Captain can do it, so can everyone else. And probably will! A team on its game does not make slow changes. No winning team does. If we get behind a goal or two, just watch how even slower they become. I am sure there was, but I cannot think of very many slow changes in our cup year. Players had hustle. Players hustle when they care and are inspired to do so! Where is our hustle and inspiration? If we can answer that question, then I think we can find the solution. Good catch Russ.

Re: Alarming blues stats
First note: this team is definitely not the worst team the blues have had. it is the most infuriating to watch because there is enough talent to look competent, they just follow up good efforts and production with absolute duds. The post-lockout teams that i endured were worse than this team talent wise. the team with Lalime in goal (until an oft injured Sanford came in and did ok), and best players mostly being over-the-hill veterans, with the hopes of the future being Christian Backman, Dennis Wideman, Lee Stempniak, and Jay McClement... yeah. Those were far darker times even with some of those guys playing 800 games in the NHL in journeyman or bottom line duty.
Binnington, i'm not sure if he is washed or he gets in his own head to be honest. Sometimes, he is challenging and winning, other times he's hugging the line and getting lit up. I can live with him losing to Colorado, that team is stomping other teams, so even if i critique him i kinda throw that result aside. But the games where we are losing 5-0 or 6-1 or 7-3 against middle of the road teams because the goalie lets in some questionable goals is getting out of hand.
And to that end, our top 6 need to grow a backbone. You get scored on, so what? This is almost the exact same group that came back in multiple games last year down 1, 2, even 3 goals and stole points that ultimately kept them in the race long enough to find their groove and their style and start taking over games. sure, Faksa was a good veteran, sure, Bolduc gave you a sniper on the 3rd line to allow you to roll 3 lines. But guess what, you replaced one with Snuggerud who still shoots plenty, and you replaced the other with Pius Suter, someone who has done more than enough. There isn't an excuse for every single veteran to just fold.
Don't need them all to be checking line style players, but the team last year took a hit to make a play, got in front of the net and forced rebounds back towards the goal. This team might try that for a few shifts, then takes the rest of the game off.
The amount of disinterest from some of the guys making 8 million in going that extra step is mind blowing.

just a few years ago we had at least 9 or 10 20 goal scorerstheograce wrote: ↑08 Jan 2026 20:10 pm1 player pacing for over 50 points
No forward pacing for 20 goals
No regular a + player
Worst goal differential by a country mile…nobody even close
It’s been a train wreck lol
Re: Alarming blues stats
Agree with Theo that it has been a trainwreck. That is painfully obvious. The "Worst Team" statement is very subjective and debatable.
What is shocking is that they are ONLY 2 games below .500 & if they win just half of their OT games, they are 2 games ABOVE and probaly in the playoff race.
Another shock- almost 25% of their wins have been by shutouts. Go figure
But the real shocker and an inexcusable stat is that they have something like 15 Losses by 3 or more goals.... That says all you need to know right there.....No compete level and no desire to fight through adversity

I'll admit I stopped watching literally many weeks ago. farthest thing from a fairweather fan, but I can't stomach it.
Re: Alarming blues stats
Amen to both of you!! The loafing and coasting back for a change with one hand on stick resting atop shoulder. (Watch Walker to see the proper way to hustle off.)zuck698 wrote: ↑08 Jan 2026 22:11 pmRussdv14 wrote: ↑08 Jan 2026 21:31 pm Their body language is also atrocious. And the dump with nobody following up to pressure forecheck. They should be firing in like the pistons moving up & down at intervals in an engine until the rest can get on -- watch videos of the 2019 playoffs for example.
And the gaining possession but holding back in the D-zone until the tired and disappointed ones can get off and the next group get on...in the meantime, the opponent is freshly changed and lined up in the center zone to stop us...no quick reversal and momentum for transition.
It isn't rocket science...get the puck, carry the puck, protect the puck, spread out, pass the puck -- on the TAPE, skate hard, drive the net, shoot the puck, get the puck again, shoot the puck, score.
Holloway is a great example, but he cannot do it all by himself. I believe Stenberg is as well. I actually think Mailloux does have this potential too -- he is playing a more difficult position and needing more support and experience at this juncture, but he is making progress.
