Reavo ko’d
One of my all time favs. Was tough to see last night.
Can’t believe he’s still throwing with monsters at his age.

I was shocked when I saw it, but big picture he's 38 and this is the first time this has happened to him in all the fights he has been in and that's impressive.
He's put together a good career and made a good amount of money.

Almost looked like a back elbow at the very end when he was reloading. Hard to tell on phone.

He skated in with his hands down - too cocky and paid for it.

You’d have to think fighting is on its way out. I just can’t see how it’s sustainable. Another Kypreos will happen

Re: Reavo ko’d
Olivier is a bad man! Reaves looked a little tentative at first (my opinion), and I don’t blame him. Makes me respect Tyler Tucker all the more for willingly taking an annual beatdown from Olivier whenever we play the Blue Jackets.
Re: Reavo ko’d
It was that last punch, really stunned him...his chin was down with eyes closed immediately after punch. Olivier's elbow on the rebound just rubbed along the front of his face. I'll speculate Reaves was for a microsecond knocked-out without control strength in neck muscles to stop the head from flopping back. Lucky for him Olivier had a hold of his jersey, because he could have slammed his helmet-less head on the ice. He is lucky.
Head trauma is cumulative. He won a lot of fights, but win or lose all his brain knows is that it received a lot of banging in the process. Reaves needs to retire right now so that he has a better chance of a longer and quality end of life.
He's a good team guy. For a good number of seasons he brought more than his physical and fighting skills to the game as well. I wish him the best future.
