Saved goal on great back check yesterday.
This forum can't be happy.
I am happy with Kyrou's play in the last couple of games. He still wants to "nudge" opponents off the puck (with expected results), but he is waaaaay better than he was even a week or so ago. I have a spark of hope that he will decide to air out is "All-Star Game Fastest Skater" secret weapon...someday soon. We, again, have all four lines with an enviable amount of compete. That matters.
The really really sad part is Kyrou will, as he has always done in the past, get spooked, or complacent and revert to the compete of a last place Mite team. That matters, even more.
Kyrou has all the physical tools to ignite any line he is on, on almost any shift. That he chooses to hide his lantern under a bushel is a sacrilege.

Kyrou has played with players as fast.
Holloway shamed him into not being a blue whale sized wageena and to COMPETE. That was when Kyrou was good…. when he competed instead of playing not to get checked, or to ever throw a check, or even push past defenders with speed.
Kyrou plays for a paycheck and to never, ever, ever feel sore after a game.
Ya gotta start learning what is expected of of hockey players in games- especially playoff games.
You think it’s all one big all star fun fest.
Well he doesn't want his fingers and bones to be ouchie when he plays his video games.

The style Holloway plays also made a little more room for Kyrou. It was the most consistent Kyrou has played as a Blue.
hat is what I am saying.
Kyrou was skating, routinely, with a player about as speedy, and about as talented as… but even smaller than he is, for weeks. that smaller player showed him what happens will one plays with a very high compete level.

Curious when Kyrou peaked in goals and points.
His peaks were pre-Holloway.
You have an "All-Star Game Fun-Fest " idea of what a peak is, apparently.
Do you not consider plus minus?
I surely do. His plus minus soared with Holloway.

C’mon man, you can’t call scoring goals and producing offense “All star game fun fest” like those things are frivolous and don’t contribute to winning hockey games.
Oh, don’t worry. Once there are about 20 games left in the season, that’s when Kyrou suddenly remembers how to score. No idea why, but for the last two years he’s magically found another gear right when the games start mattering a whole lot less.

Last year we were making a playoff push. I’d think that would mean those games matter more

Possibly true at the time? Nah. Last year in the first round Kyrou got absolutely rag-dolled by Stanley once and then mentally checked out for the rest of the series. Spent more time folded up in a fetal position than involved in the play. One hit and the series was over for him.
That’s not ‘bad timing’ or ‘matchups’ — that’s an eight-million-dollar passenger disappearing when it gets hard. If that’s your response to playoff hockey, don’t be shocked when fans start calling it out

They are only frivolous... when the player does nothing else of consequence, eh?

I imagine he had some health issues after that hit even though he got right back up. He got absolutely drilled.

If he did, they were minor- especially in an elimination series. Armstrong cut him zero slack when he discussed it.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprise if he had neck issues. I mean it was essentially whiplash.
