Pump the brakes - he's playing against kids and people that won't even make the AHL.
Lol, Swedens' WJC-U20 team has 17 NHL draft picks plus Bjorck, Stenberg and the majority of those will play in the NHL and a handful of those have star potential. We could list Canada too but you get the point.

Right on - I guess Dean will be in the NHL any day now since he played for the U20 team....maybe Ty Rattie can give him some advice (another U20 player)...

Lol, dumb comment but yeah Dean has a decent shot at the NHL roster he needs to put it back together. Add this to:

"Stenberg isnt ready"
"Dvorsky isnt ready"
"Broberg cant be a #1"

Harry S Deals wrote: 06 Jan 2026 10:45 am I think at this point Faulk may be moved to make room for Jiricek. Still dont think the Blues will sell low on Faulk because they dont have to but ive heard a few times nationally that Jiricek should play NHL next season

For me i think Fowler is the one that has to go, 4 team no trade list this year, NTC next year just dont like his level of play right now and Lindstein may be able to upgrade this spot next year.
It's hard to judge Fowlers play this year. He's had to babysit Mailloux. To me that's not on him. And if anything is a growing point for the team. If they can better throughout the season, you have a logical pairing next year. My hope is that we have that pairing continue to get better. And next year we can roll Theo Lindstein into a pairing with Faulk and keep Tucker as the 7th. Then you can make the decision on Jiricek moving forward.

Did someone say Jiricek "will be in the NHL any day now"? Very possible he plays in the NHL next season. I don't know about replacing Faulk but make the roster? Sure.

He'll be 20 in June my guess was he starts in the AHL and plays in the NHL '26-'27 i believe this sentiment was echoed during the WJC broadcast

I score a goal, and Goldblum fakes a dive in the goal crease. Ugly.
You DID NOT score a goal. Your shot was miles wide. Your post screams lack of knowledge or clouded judgement due to your biased hatred of Army.

Buium is 7 months older than Jiricek. Buium is a -11 in 41 career games.
Sorry, but I think I’d rather wait a little longer and have Jiricek. He’s got the better all around game and I really don’t think it’s close.
Ive always like the Jiricek pick but no reason to down play Buium, he just turned 20 and has 18 points in his first 41 NHL games. We'd be thrilled with that if we picked him but the fact of the matter is he wasn't on the board when we picked so we picked Jiricek who is looking pretty (drat) good as well. Who knows which ones ends up being better but I'm sure Buium would also be dominant at the jr level right now.

Currently I'd be thrilled to have either one.
I thought Buium was too much like a defenseman version of Carbonneau and wouldn't translate into quality NHL D without significant improvement, and so far that is correct. Jiricek was a young one in his draft who I wanted over Buium. I agree that I'd be just fine with a -11 20pt guy at this point, but he'd probably be like -100 on this team
That’s gooky talk…Buium is an absolute stud of a player. Going to be all star caliber for many years. He’s that good.
 probably so, and I don't doubt that Buium will be that level of player. I just liked Jiricek's longer runway and thought he had a more balanced game (great stick), size with room to grow, his performance in world tournaments, and that he'd already played against men. Oh, and the RH thing. That was a bit part of it. Sometimes the college guys are harder to get video on, so it's possible I didn't see enough of Zeev to form an informed opinion on his overall game. My focus was more on drafting a stud RHD in the draft after missing the year before and having nothing in the system. Jiricek wasn't my #1 prospect, but he was the guy I wanted where we were, even if Buium fell that far, which I didn't think would happen.
