Not that I’m advocating for it, but I could see them extending Joseph but at a much lower salary. He’s a useful 12-14th forward that won’t block the youth. And as much as I’ve loved Sunny over the years, I hope they finally move on.

Keep Berggren hopefully, as he should be inexpensive.

Agree with all of that. Honestly, I could see Sunny latching on and becoming a coach. I guess it depends on whether he wants to keep playing, but he seems like the kind of guy that could be a very good influence on younger players. He’s pretty locked in to St. Louis, so I guess it depends on whether he wants to try and squeeze out one more season as a player.

Knowing this team, they will extend him. If so, it better be for league minimum and only one year deals. He definitely bleeds blue though.

The book on Berggren is that he petered out after his first year - but when you look at his ice time, its not clear he ever got the opp to air it out - had some dry spells, started getting scratched. Here, he's put up on the top lines w/ skilled players, lots of roster space due to injuries, given a chance to exploit/develop his already apparent offensive skills. Could be a great pick-up, time will tell. For him, its surely the (second) chance of an NHL lifetime. Or he's another Vrana. Nice pick-up, nice shot for him & the org.

This and man, it would be cool to see us hit on a player like this just to maybe help speed up the retool/build.
