All the Athletic writers had Canada winning Gold! I’m disappointed we didn’t get to see USA vs Canada sometime during the tournament. At least one of the Blues prospects will be bringing home the Gold!

Outside of a couple dumb penalties, the Czechs just played smarter. When in doubt they got pucks out of their own end and dumped it in on the offensive end. Canada didn’t do those things. Dumb penalties and dumb decisions.

Really average goaltending throughout this tournament including from Canada which according to the experts was suppose to be a strong suit. I guess the Canadians are now forced to shake hands with the Czechs in a losing effort this time. Karmas a (buzz) boys.

That was a great game to attend. Sat behind a couple where the lady was a Czech fan and the boyfriend/husband was a Canadian fan. She was giving it to him all night. Was fun to watch.

That Cihar goal was absolutely filthy. Was something to behold.

McKenna came off like an entitled baby to me. He didn’t play well and kept whining. While the Czechs were scoring the winning goal, he was complaining he got bumped and he lost his stick.

It was past 1 am by the time I got home so I’m exhausted this morning. But with both the US and Canada out, I’d bet ticket prices for the gold medal game will plummet today on the resale market so I’m trying to find a way to justify going. :D

Just wish I lived closer. 4 hours of driving is a lot for these games.

There was a lot of talk on Reddit by Canada fans that McKenna tried (or did) leave the ice during the awards/anthem. Not sure if you saw that?

But overall yea, he definitely did not help his stock in this tourney, especially last night.

It looked like some of the bench staff were telling him to go back out

I think this was jiriceks worst game but still solid. I think the Illness was still affecting him. Love to see a great gold medal game.

Am I wrong?

Poor Canada. Maybe a dancing Czechia flag meme would be appropriate this morning?

I thought Jiricek was really solid in the first period and once again he led all Czech dmen in ice time. No problems with his game last night for me.

I was really just being a goofball due to this silly thread from the other day. It was fun watching them though. They are a tenacious team.

It’s the game he stood out the least. 3rd period he played closer to what he had the other games. First two periods he looked like maybe he was battling an illness or something, several missed passes and wasn’t jumping into the play like he had been. Still looked better defensively than any of the D on his team though.

I believe McKenna received a 10 minute misconduct towards the end of the game and I think he looked to me like he was genuinely confused on whether he should be in the ice or not. I could be wrong on that, but I do agree that his attitude seemed to be questionable at best. I don’t follow prospects like others do, but to me if I’m drafting first there were some things I saw that would have me a bit concerned about him. I don’t know if his talents are so much higher than everyone else that you take the chance any way, but he did seem to look a bit entitled as MN stated.

Czechs play hard, they were not sitting back and trying to trap the Canadians they were forechecking hard and had Canada on their heels a lot. They play fast with skill speed and size. Jiricek was great i would agree probably his worst performance but again he was up against arguably the best roster in the tournament and he certainly held his own. Both Czechia and Sweden deserve it they both just played better overall

The Euros play as a 23 man unit with scoring up and down the lineup. It’s fun to watch.

The US and Canada play like 23 guys playing individual games.
