Yesterday was the first time i have watched these guys play and actually appreciated the effort they brought. Great effort top to bottom.
That was also the first time in a long time time that thomas was inviting to 1 on 1 battles and attacking.

I have serious doubts for those wanting to trade CP with the main thought being he is past prime and no longer a value.

He is a value as we speak under performing on offense which is btw more mystifying than it is revealing.

Of course, like all of these conversations, you propose a over the top return with a trade you can't refuse always gets the juices flowing.

I don't think it's happening for multiple reasons.

Macro: One camp is willing to hurt the current team to help the franchise long term.
Micro: The other camp is more worried about this year and next.

You just can't pass up a first rounder for a soon to be 34 year old #4 d-man.
Same goes for a degrading forward that will be 35 before the start of next season.
The question becomes: will they waive their right to be uprooted if approached?

The 26-27 season should be the year we usher in new younger leadership on (new captain) and off (Steen) the ice.

It will be interesting to watch if any teams (particularly in the East) step up early and acquire help before the TDL to try to get some separation in the jumbled standings.
It's amazing that only 11 points separate the 16 teams in the East at the half way point.

Most GM's will play it safe and wait to the TDL before deciding if they're buyers or sellers.
It's hard to gauge if any of the managers are on the hot seat.
Maybe Drury & Fitzgerald.
Yzerman must make a move, won't he?

Out West all eyes are on Craig Conroy.
Andersson & Kadri are his chips.

It might be a dud at the TDL because of the lack of sellers.
Low supply + high demand equals big price tag.
I would feel a hell of a lot better if we traded Faulk for the 1st of a team that could fail spectacularly like Colorado trading Duchesne to Ottawa for a 1st round that ended up a #4 OA getting them Byram.

That’s our point, he is a value, a great value to teams that are close right now. Unfortunately we are likely stuck with him for now and we won’t ever be able to capitalize on the haul he would bring back to the organization so it is what it is.

Still unable to answer OP's question, but five of Blues nine points came from players under 25.

And Blues beat — shut out — second best team in the East with a unique cast of centers.

No longer a rookie, but that 25-year-old goalie is just a little bit good!

Stenberg Dvorsky Mailloux (who is 4th rookie? Snuggerud?)
Bergrren young and good. Likes too shoot.
Neighbours young yet so mature.
Nice crop of players for sure. Letting this group play as much as possible, as ultimately going to help this team in the end. Record be damned.
