Boateng went from starting the Illinois game to getting 0 minutes in this game. Porter didn’t get in either. Mack played 6 minutes and put up no stats. I’m fine with none of these 3 ever seeing the floor outside of a blowout.

Agree on both. Pierce had a confidence about him. Loved seeing that. Maybe they weren’t as bad as they’ve been?Armchair QB wrote: ↑03 Jan 2026 22:12 pm No question both made a difference. Stone a little rusty, but not too worried about him. I think Pierce’s shot has improved. Man he looked good all things considered. His defense was just phenomenal. He’s going to be a difference maker for us in conference play.

Burns also was back and looked decent in first half. Not sure why he did not get very much PT in second half though.

Porter was injured. He might still have a place with the way he can shoot. I like the idea of starting Burns and then using Porter / Northweather as the backup. All 3 can step out and hit the 3 which is huge in Gates’ system. I’m disappointed with Boateng so far. He’s a fantastic athlete. He just can’t make shots and disappears at times with his effort. As good an athlete as he is, I wish he’d dedicate to shooting and ball handling and show up next season ready to contribute. He could be really good.
Not a fan of Mack’s game, at all.

Yeah, Boateng and Randall both look lacking in basketball skills. Not sure they'll ever show any the way they look now. And I'm with you on Mack. Deep on the bench for him.Armchair QB wrote: ↑04 Jan 2026 12:58 pmPorter was injured. He might still have a place with the way he can shoot. I’ve seen many players like Mack over the years. Super aggressive. Maybe good athletes. But not super skilled. Think they’re more than they are and they play recklessly and take bad shots. Even if they think they’re helping the team somehow by playing that way, they’re not.icon wrote: ↑04 Jan 2026 14:43 pmYeah, Boateng and Randall both look lacking in basketball skills. I like all players like that to enjoy games from the bench unless they can learn how to play right.
