He didn’t exactly word that properly though did he? He was drafted to score goals so don’t say you’re abandoning that aspect just to work on your D. You say something like I need to work on my defense while continuing to get my offense up to an NHL level.
so you're dismissing him and deciding what kind of player he's going to be off a comment you would prefer be worded differently

that preference itself is foolish, also, and born of ignorance for this player

Not dismissing him at all, but know what this organization tends to do with talent.
Now I'm curious. What do they do with talent? This team went to the playoffs for 25 straight years, and the 80's and 90's they did not give a FUUUUCK about the draft. A huge deal was made about finally getting a first rounder in 1996 and selecting Marty Reasoner at the draft in St. Louis. From '06 to '10 they drafted some talent. Including the franchise' ONLY #1 pick. from 2010-2020 the Blues had one of the best records in the NHL with a WCF appearance and a Cup win. Not drafting high, they still found gems. What players do you think they mishandled?
