After the confidence that 20ish pounds have given him i wouldnt doubt he hits the offseason bulk hard until it effects his skating ability. The weight room gets addicting once the results come.Rollin' on the River wrote: ↑31 Dec 2025 17:15 pmThe Brantford Bulldogs roster has him at 6’3 185.Younghopp1991 wrote: ↑31 Dec 2025 17:10 pm Can someone remind me what he got his wait up to again? Which is still about 35 to 40 pounds less than what I’d like to see him play at

I’d like to see him at 200-225lbs.
Somewhere in that sweet spot where his speed and skating isn’t effected.

That and the humility to understand that some may know better than him.

Exactly. I posted earlier about Stenberg listening. It's amazing what happens when you’re open to instruction and advice. Especially these young kids. Glad they aren't picking up nasty habits from **cough cough** others. Not naming names.Younghopp1991 wrote: ↑31 Dec 2025 17:30 pmMan, following directions is such a overlooked trait in sports.John Cocktoastin wrote: ↑31 Dec 2025 17:25 pmHe was on a plan by the Blues.Younghopp1991 wrote: ↑31 Dec 2025 17:21 pmAfter the confidence that 20ish pounds have given him i wouldnt doubt he hits the offseason bulk hard until it effects his skating ability. Re: Jiricek
From Daily Faceoff...
1. Adam Jiricek, D, Czechia (St. Louis Blues)
The Czechs would probably have allowed another 2-3 goals against Canada if not for Jiricek’s blocked shots. They were going to lose against Finland if it wasn’t for his incredible between-the-legs goal, too. Not only has Jiricek been the best defenseman at this tournament, but he has been the best player, period. He’s not as flashy as Tomas Galvas (the undrafted wizard making some incredible plays for the Czechs), but his refined two-way game made it look like he was playing on another level the past week.

Crazy to think that going into the season up to now that the two best things regarding our season would be the arrival of Otto Stenberg and the development of Adam Jiricek

Especially when so many junior GM’s on here convinced us that Jiricek was a bust of monumental proportions.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑01 Jan 2026 17:15 pm Crazy to think that going into the season up to now that the two best things regarding our season would be the arrival of Otto Stenberg and the development of Adam Jiricek

Wait a minute. Junior GMs? I thought these posters were actually in line for a NHL GM slot. Add Dvorsky's arrival to the list. Jiricek just scored again. 3-2 leading Switzerland in the 2nd
Re: Jiricek
He looked like the best defenseman on the ice at last year's tournament, having just come back from injury. Haven't been able to catch much this year, but glad to hear he's dominating at 19. I imagine he'll make the jump to the AHL when his season ends, and then he'll battle for a roster spot next season. Who knows, maybe he slots right into the Blues lineup later this year

Scoring. Good to see.
Another skill he's bringing to the table - shotblocking. Good to see that as well. A Dman with offensive and defensive prowess. We need that.

Just think if both mailloux and Jiricek develop as project thats a solid 2nd and 3rd pair on RD. I doubt either one would ever be a true number 1 so not sure what we will do there when CP55 is no longer a blues!
