SEC Taking a Whoopin'
Could very well be 0-5 against P4 teams in bowl games with Vanderbilt maybe losing to Iowa today.
Not good.
Not good.
Re: SEC Taking a Whoopin'
Portal has now zapped the non CFP bowl games it seems. CFB is near dead - its a pro league with CFP or bust. IA seemed to have the most starters playing.

Texas whopped Michigan with 8 guys sitting out.
Re: SEC Taking a Whoopin'
SEC did get beat up in bowl games and with tomorrows games could have two more losses. TX is the only team that beat a really competitive teame even with so many top NFL players sitting out. What it shows it with their incredible recruiting they had young players behind them who were just as good and took advantage of the opportunity to step up and play very well.
They had bunch of rotation players sitting on d and top two rbs' out and yet didn't miss a beat. Arch finally looked like a very good QB.

Re: SEC Taking a Whoopin'
Playing against a true freshman quarterback who threw three interceptions had a tad to do with it too. The fact that edge rusher Derrick Moore, linebacker Jaishawn Barham, and offensive lineman Gio El-Hadi plus linebacker Ernest Hausmann didn’t suit up for Michigan had an influence too.
Re: SEC Taking a Whoopin'
Bowl games outside the CFP are designed to showcase future talent and getting seniors who are not going pro one more swan song. They mean nothing outside that.
Re: SEC Taking a Whoopin'
One other thing, bowl games provide free vacations for staff and big donors.

By these response I guess no one values actually winning the game anymore.
That's the only thing that should ever matter.

It's the NFL-Light for cities/states without the NFL (with fewer league rules/safeguards).

The CFP quarterfinals were in Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles and New Orleans. (3 NFL stadiums). Semifinals are in Atlanta and Arizona (both NFL stadiums)MizzouMarv wrote: ↑02 Jan 2026 09:16 am It's the NFL-Light for cities/states without the NFL (with fewer league rules/safeguards).
Jacksonville, LA, Charlotte, Nashville, Tampa, Phoenix, Detroit, Las Vegas, Houston. All hosted bowls at NFL stadiums. (some had two]
