Giants To Sign Tyler Mahle
By Charlie Wright | December 31, 2025 at 12:30pm CDT

The Giants are closing in on a deal with free agent right-hander Tyler Mahle, reports Shayna Rubin of the San Francisco Chronicle. It’s a one-year pact, per Rubin.

Mahle is coming off an injury-riddled 2025 with the Rangers, though he was productive when healthy. The veteran righty was one of the most pleasant early-season surprises, pitching to a 1.64 ERA over the first two months of the season. Mahle allowed two earned runs or fewer in 11 of his first 12 starts to begin the campaign. He was knocked around for eight earned runs across his first two starts of June, then hit the IL with shoulder fatigue. Mahle returned for a pair of outings in September, allowing a run over 9 2/3 innings.

We'll see what the $$$ are. Probably a good move for the Giants.

I have been advocating for either him or Quintana. I guess I'm down to Quintana.

The cardinals already signed an injury hope pick in may I think the next starter they sign will be more of a reliable type starter and it will probably be on a multi year contract. Just my opinion

Of the one-year guys, I'd take a shot at:

Dustin May
Tyler Mahle

Oh well, at least we got one of my guys!

Happy New Year Birds'!

Could be. I’m not sure who it is I’m just going by what bloom said and reports are saying. Bloom said he wanted another veteran starter he also said he wasn’t averse to signing a player to a multi year contract. A source in the cardinals said they were looking for a more reliable veteran starter. I think may was their one year pitcher coming off injuries but has high upside gamble move which is smart and now I think he signs a veteran starter which he said he looking to do and I think it will be to a multi year contract
