Re: Jiricek
I was thinking more of an injury call up or something at some point in '26-'27. As it stands Parayko and Mailloux will be here Im unsure if Mailloux gets top 4 minutes by next season that may be a stretch and I dont think Jiricek steps into a top 4 role right away. Lindstein seems likely for a LHD spot next year in a battle with Tucker.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 08:34 amMaybe.....if they sell everybody and decide to rebuild...
Bottom line is as too many posters were panning the Jiricek pick due to an injury at 18 yrs old the kid is going to be a stud NHL defenseman

Welp.
I'd say his recent performance before the tournament nudged his timeline up a bit.
Maybe this tournament is moving it even more.
Unbelievable.

Maybe the kid ends up being amazing, maybe he doesn’t. That said, there sure aren’t a lot of defensemen out there who can score a goal like that. Wow.

If the '24 draft is redone in hindsight does Buffalo take Mrtka or Jiricek at #9
Re: Jiricek
Wow he’s a defender pulling off that move! The picture quality was (bleep) so I couldn’t see if it went in top shelf or snuck through?

“We were excited when we heard (the Detroit Red Wings select forward Michael Brandsegg-Nygård) before us at No. 15,” Blues general manager Doug Armstrong said. “We had our eyes set on the guy we got. He’s got range, skating ability. He makes a good first pass. We think he’s a legitimate top-four defenseman, and they’re hard to find.”dhsux wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 18:10 pmYeah Harry....where are those folks?Harry S Deals wrote: ↑29 Dec 2025 17:25 pm Bu bu but it was a bust of a draft pick Army doesn't know anything they took an injured kid

It’s one thing for a D to pull that move off at any time, it’s a whole other story to attempt it in OT. He will make things interesting in camp next year.
