Petro, Barbashev, Mikkola

Post by TheSolution »

These were really bad decisions

Petro deserved to be treated like the club actually wanted him to sign here.

Barbie is like a less skilled Barkov. He’s so so so so so valuable. He left way too casually.

Mikkola should have replaced the identity Boumeester provided.

As much as you guys want to do well the best thing to do is draft in the top 5.

Binnington has to be traded, hopefully after value is increased at the Olympics.

I would trade anyone but Neighbors and Hofer.

Oh, shii forgot I was at a Wendy’s.

Yeah, bro Barbeshev and Mikkola are complimentary players. This isn’t some underhanded point about top picks. Nice to have Barbie up the middle as depth on a cup team. Can play with top players and make effective secondary and checking lines. Mikkola fit the identy of the big forest of D we had when we won the cup and should have slotted in for Bou

This was just a non agenda non toxic just basic sharing of general thoughts post.

What a disaster these boards are.

Barbeshev let it be known he was not resigning with the Blues so it was either trade him or let him for nothing

Where does that fit?

Named those names as players that exited and were not replaced, are missed, and if they were here things would have gone a lot better.

Barbashev has already been replaced. Mikkola is a 2/3 line d. You cant keep every player on the roster. Choices have to be made.

DA discussed an extension and Barbashev said he wanted to explore the market. My personal feeling is that Barbashev wanted a change of scenery regardless of dollars, but nobody except him and his agent know for sure.

Petro was drunk on dollars and wanted max. Army traded for Faulk and "captain" Petro was icy in his reception. He kicked himself off the team due to his greed and desire to keep icing the puck in the final 2 minutes.

Why does Opie need to keep being reminded?

There are far too many Army "Moms" on this board. They are willing to stretch every circumstance and fact to protect their superstar son.

I recommend doing what I do. Just post your comments, and don't bother replying to them. The truth bubbles up to the readers. In fact, I find that my information sells better when stocked on the same shelf next to their feeble comments.

The OP is playing both sides of the coin here with the comments.

We moved Mikkola and Barbashev for picks/prospects when we weren't playing that well in an effort to get younger and we drafted a bit higher for a few seasons because of it. Can't complain about losing both of them when the GM did exactly what you are proposing we'd do now.

I also hate the idea of trading players at the absolute basement rate that they'd go for at any point in their career. Binner this season looks like he did the year we went with Husso. lots of really bad starts, a poor goals against, saves against expected horrendous. I'd at least like to see him go on a run of maybe 2-3 good results in a row so that he recovers closer to an .885 or .890 for the season, that would make him worth a bit more, and teams might gamble on him returning to form in the playoffs like he has in a few postseasons.

Anyways, this is a forum not the OP's personal soap box. If you are going to post, be prepared for at least some discussion with people with different views. Sheesh.

Barbashev? Mikkola? My heavens

And Petro was offered the highest contract in franchise history in the middle of the unknown covid times. Faulk was meant to replace Parayko after Petro signed and they moved 55 for a haul. Too bad Petro's greed got in the way.

That’s why Armstrong calls it the biggest mistake of his professional life…over a greedy man.

Makes sense. I can see why you rarely talk about hockey

He never said that. You’re lying again.
He admitted was one of his biggest regrets…that he couldn’t make it work….but he NEVER said that he would do things differently.
Not the same thing princess…no matter what you WANT to believe. Petro owns 50% of the blame…he just refuses to admit he effed up.
Enjoy your evening.

You regret perceived mistakes or things you think you could have done differently. Do you understand that concept? That’s why he is looking internally and talks about in depth … stating how much he regrets and respects … and sees him when he sees statues.

Watch again. Mmmmm yumz
