Rumors are pretty strong C. Bloom is holding out for a righthanded, power hitting OF prospect for Donny (re: M's).

Likely why it's taking a bit longer to deal him but he should be in no hurry.

Web, respect that everyone has right to their opinion. Mine is that MO had no idea what contending really means much less building a contender. Bloom has rebuilt the foundation for that first and foremost with investments in minor league coaching, talent evaluations and development programs etc and has tackled the most difficult first in restocking the pithing prosepect pool. As another post by Rock states that the Cardinals have arguably increased their farm development and standings by a considerable margin

Plenty of time for additions and subtractions to be made in the position aspect. All in all, a healthy and positive start to rebuilding contending Cardinal baseball. I for one ( FWITW ) am very excited for our progress with more to come in restoring our pride.

Trust me I hope you are correct….Im sick of watching awful baseball…. I honestly just have not seen enough to call this a rebuild… Sadly, it looks a lot more like a salary dump.

If it were a salary dump, why would the team send money in the trades to get players back? It's just cover for their nefarious plan?

Yeah that's probably not going to happen.

A project with high upside perhaps but a high prospect who,'s
Likely to break into a ML roster this season doubtful.

doesn't the kid from the M's system have like a ~40% k rate in the mid minors? can't remember the name

imo, doesn't sound like a 'get' to me

Yes, Lazaro Montes. Hit .240-ish at AA with a K rate like you describe. He does get XBH's though. LHH

Not a good runner, not a good fielder, not good bat-to-ball skills. If he doesn't hit for power he has very low value. Sound familiar?

exactly - this is the show me state after all. Bring in some players who have proven something or at least projects at a very high probability rate like JJW, (or Kurtz types etc). The rest of the org is hopefuls at best.

Do that and we could get excited. So far its just keep waiting indefinately while the producers slowly leave and aren't adequately replaced.

I think they'll get way better than a "project" 11WS.

Especially if they couple Donny + JoJo.

I think they'll get that high prospect in some teams 1 thru 5.

High Risk/But High Reward?

Could be the best they get for Donny.

If so, that would be fairly new news. Rumors on this site back at the winter meetings were strong that Donny would be traded for even more pitching.

I think the thinking may have changed w/the Red Sox deals coming to pass w/both upside prospects & major league ready starters already on the roster.

I hope the rumors are true Carp, we need an OF bat desperately.
