Buchnevich trade value just went up
Looking forward to moving him out along with other vets (Schenn & Binnington) to secure a top 5 pick (Stenberg
).

People have up and down years… I mean we thought ROR was washed and he’s having a good year with Trashville… not sure he gets traded but I think he will bounce the rest of the year and will be a good player for the blues

Buch had that great first year with the Blues and it looked like he was part of the Blues core. He's trending down ever since.

I am very happy to know that I can watch Buch's trade value go up and down for the next 5 years.
Meanwhile, Vancouver can noodle what value the Quinn Hughes trade brought them.
When was the last time the St Louis Blues had a player on their roster that could bring that much return? 20 years?

I’m sure Vancouver fans were real stoked to watch their team collapse while trading their former Top Draft Pick, 26 year old, Hall of Fame bound star, who struggled to get along with their other Top 5 Pick.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑28 Dec 2025 08:09 am I am very happy to know that I can watch Buch's trade value go up and down for the next 5 years.

Elias Pettersson #5 (2017)
Quinn Hughes #7 (2018)
Vasily Podkolzin #10 (2019)
What do they have to show for all that? Two Second Round exits in a decade.

Re: Buchnevich trade value just went up
History has shown that if the Blues are in the hunt at all, they aren't going to make trades for the future. We are 1 point out of a playoff spot. I would love to trade Schenn, Buch, and maybe some others now too. The time has come, imo. But I'm afraid they won't do it and we will be riding with these guys forever.
Re: Buchnevich trade value just went up
We are only trading Buch. If a big, long, Cap hit comes back.
Right now. He can add to a cup team. But his contract has to be in the top of the league. For being one of the worse.

If Steen was smart and even if we are in the hunt, and if we make the playoffs we are not getting out of the 1st round. Personally lets trade Buch and Schenn, possibly move Kyrou as well before trade deadline lets try for a top 5 pick. I think this team will be fine next year with the young guys in the line up.PregnantNun wrote: ↑28 Dec 2025 11:59 am History has shown that if the Blues are in the hunt at all, they aren't going to make trades for the future. Re: Buchnevich trade value just went up
Since he has been on the Blues, he has been a point per game playoff performer. 19 points in 19 games. There are precious few who can make that boast. Last year he led the team in scoring again, 3 goals and 5 assists in the Jets series.
In the same post seasons, he has 50% more playoff points than Kyrou, and almost a third more than Thomas. His playoff plus minus is much better than either of those two.
Any GM who wants to win when it counts would take a long look at Buchnevich.

Re: Buchnevich trade value just went up
In last night’s post-game presser, rather than talk about Buch’s two never-give up-on the-play goals, Monty went on and on about all the little things “that go unnoticed” Buch does to make games tough for opponents, especially the defensive play.
He is moveable, but I want to win this year in the first round-if we make it- so the offer would have to be sweeter than what we mighr get for Kyrou. Buch is more valuable in the playoffs.

Played a massive role in the biggest collapse in franchise history and has an ES goal in one of his 27 playoff games.

Don’t forget his NMC. He is not going anywhere.
That’s the sad part of the story…

Why are you wanting to lose your top playoff performer?Harri McBain wrote: ↑28 Dec 2025 15:00 pm Don’t forget his NMC. He is not going anywhere.

It astounds me.
