Our O Line sucks.

Our defensive secondary sucks.

It’s the only thing preventing us from blowing them out.
You can throw QB in there as well. It's ok to admit he has not shown a single thing as a Mizzou QB.
Virginia's QB is a senior and they got three points at halftime.
What have you seen from Zollers that excites you, other than his recruiting ranking?
He's played parts of four games in SEC plus play.

He didn't have a senior high school season due to injury.

Some of you guys have him as a failure already and his career is just starting.
But everyone seems to think he is next years starter or he will hit the portal. We can't go into next year with him as number one, we've got to get someone with a pulse or we can watch this kind of stuff all next year.

rezero wrote: 27 Dec 2025 19:56 pm I am at the game on the 40yds line about 40 rows up and here is a quick halftime update from this Missouri heavy section.

1) The general consensus from the crowd is our play calling is very suspect. 3 QB designed runs and 2 bubble screens all need to be removed from the playbook. Virginia is pulling out all the stops offensively and have players running all over the place on plays. Their offensive creativity is making Eli look like he is being way out coached on offense.

2) Zoellers accuracy looks to be off as he missed some easy wide open throws but just seems to be overthrowing so maybe he is just too hyped up for the game and will settle down the second half. His first two passes were scripted and he has not hit many since that first drive. The OlIne is giving him time so he needs to settle down.

3) Our run game, outside of the one big run, has looked pedestrian. One problem that people are screaming is we only run right up the middle and have not tried any runs off tackle. Seems we are being very predictable on the run. Duke killed them on jet sweeps and RBs runs outside, but we have not tried any of those. No idea why we have not used the Duke blueprint.

4) Lastly, the crowd is about 60-70% Mizzou fans as we traveled very well even though probably only 30k here. Also, not sure you can tell from TV but there are about quite a few Florida Gator fans here and they are pulling for Mizzou which is a little odd.
Nice, thanks for on site reporting!

On tv it looks like the O Line isn’t run blocking well (no holes) and someone is always getting through our line to disrupt the pass plays (usually on the outside). Zollers has missed 2-3 easy throws. He needs to grow up quick tonight and make his throws.

I realize Drink is trying to give our running backs preference, but this is a game where it makes sense to let Zollers try to let it fly as well. Way too conservative play calling. I want to see them win as much as anyone, but it's also not the end all and be all if they don't. Come on now. Also, on a good note, Blake Craig will be back next year. Also, Tollison played the first set but is sitting. The o-line is being experimented with now.

Not sure about Zollers. He needs to settle down and throw some more accurate balls. They just stack the defense and the run game not getting it done. Need to figure something out quick or this winnable bowl game will go down the toilet.

Zollers isnt guaranteed anything.

Another QB will be brought in to compete for the job but unlike this year with Pribula and Horn Zollers will be given all of the off season to win the job in competition.

If he gets beat out then he doesn't start. Simple.

No one should be handed a starting spot especially the most important position on the field.

Virginia halftime pep talk, "concentrate on stoping the run, they can't pass".

Zollars is playing in his fourth game after not playing at all for more than a year. He has the arm. His accuracy will improve. As usual, a whole lot of folks blaming it all on the qb when they are down to third string wide receivers and as usual, no creativity in play calling. The good thing is the o-line is giving Zollers some time to throw. Gotta air it out a bit in the second half or VA will keep loading the box and stopping the run.

Virginia 8-12 on 3rd down.

We need to blitz or get creative. Our secondary can’t last 2 seconds in coverage.

...Don't think he will... He'll have spring practice to himself, and that should help him a lot. Real competition will come preseason next year. He'll have to earn it...

Feel like if Virginia scores a TD we are in trouble.

Only Mizzou could get an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on a touchdown scored against them.

This team is trash.

We’d better dial up some exotic blitzes. Our secondary simply can’t cover anything for any time at all. We have to get to the QB.

This (bleep) poor 3rd down defense caught up that drive. Unreal.

Alright Drink. Need to move the ball. Have to score.
