McKenna with another assist.

Too bad it came on Jiricek's dime.

Jircek crushing dudes and goes a little dirty with a high hit on Cootes! He took a penalty but I love a little hint of dirty!

Parekh scored on the PP but I still love the play of Jiricek there regardless

Yes. But watching Calgary this year he has at times looked lost in both zones. A good reminder that dmen need time to acclimate. See Mailloux.

I thought Canada looked lost on their D game; a lot of missed assignments (especially from the forwards). I don't think that's the last we see of this Czech's team. They have great size and speed (looked like 18 of the same guy out there). They'll beat somebody on the other side (USA/ Sweden) is my prediction.

Parekh shot on his 2nd goal was pretty darn impressive. wicked wrister, top corner.

Canada's offence was pumping overall (dominating most of the game IMO); scored 7gls and only had 13gls total in last yrs tournie.

Jiricek led all players in ice time in that game, playing 23 mins.

Carels rode pine for most of the 2nd period after his stick miscue late in the first let the Czechs back into the game. They went back to him in the 3rd period and he looked a lot better but I don’t think they seriously had much planned for him this game.
Yeah Parekh just sends some floaters to the net and they find a way in. He was easily their best player last night.
I see Flyer fans ripping on Martone a little this morning…

The Kings have some really good players coming. Cihar was impressive, and he’s heading to Kelowna to play with the Rockets after this tourney.
Liam Greentree though was pretty much benched the entire game…only played 2:30.
Add the Kings to the list of teams that would make a great trade partner for the Blues

That was a fun game to attend. Ended up sitting next to a group of Sam O’Reilly’s childhood friends. A very rowdy bunch! I became a Canadian for the evening. Some guy from Calgary sitting on the other side of me brought me a Labatt’s midway through the game. Was a good time. Glad we went.

Yeah he does, must have 3-4 blocks and has made some good passes and a couple rushes.
And he just crushed Martone in the corner!
I watched this whole game just catching up to the thread - yes, this was a significant hit. He had tons of blocked shots as well. Jiricek had a significant game. That roughing penalty he took later is part of the overall complete shift he's made this year. Just an awesomely entertaining game overall, back and forth, all aggressive, no layback, it was great.

..tapping the Czech player on the [ash] (at the Czech bench) after the Canadian goal. Was kinda funny; but could have been costly.

Seems like the Canadian team aren't being very sportsmen like.
Canadian players intentionally running into Czechia players on their side of centre ice during pregame warmups thinking they could intimidate them and then ending the game like this. Another bad look for Hockey Canada.
Below is an apology from team Canada for not shaking hands at the end.
