Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
I would consider this list horse hockey. Quite frankly if your going to put a guy out there for 3 to 10 mill per just because he has some experience, knowing full well he will be a .250ish, 10 to 15 HR guy at best, at best I say. Then your better off just throwing a Church, or Koperniak out there along with Noot, Scott and Walker and calling it a day. Save some money and see what you got. See who rises to the top considering this is a rebuild year. That is a Johnny Moz list all day long. I do hope Bloom has more sense than that. If he goes after a RHH OF then it needs to be via trade for someone controllable and you know is a legit player for a few years, no questions asked. Does not have to hit 30HR's but a .285, and 20 to 25HR's works. That can be had in a Donovan, Pallante, lower minors prospect deal.

Great idea! Pages would have a huge impact in the St. Louis OF for years! Big question: Would the Dodgers do it?rockondlouie wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 08:49 amDonny + Noot = A. Pages!

Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
Thank you. I think the Cardinals have had mediocre players for so long that 10 home runs looks great. Can we please aspire for better?StlMike1969 wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 08:59 am I would consider this list horse hockey. Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
Please be aware that the list was on MLB trade rumors as the limited FA OF available. It was not a list of OF rumored to be on Bloom's preferred targets.StlMike1969 wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 08:59 am I would consider this list horse hockey. Why would they do it?12xu wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 09:01 amGreat idea! Pages would have a huge impact in the St. Louis OF for years! Big question: Would the Dodgers do it?rockondlouie wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 08:49 amDonny + Noot = A. Pages!

Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
One, because as rock noted, the Dodgers can sign a replacement outfielder anytime they choose - such as Tucker.Cardinals1964 wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 09:05 amWhy would they do it?12xu wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 09:01 amGreat idea! Two, because they can shift Edman to CF as needed to give playing time to Freeland and Kim at 2b.
Three, because Donovan and Mootbaar would give them more depth and versatility overall.
Four, because Pages is not favored by Roberts.
Five, because 4 of the top 5 prospects in their system are outfielders (DePaula, Hope, Quintero, and Sirota), making it likely that Pages will get squeezed at some point.
Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
Trade Arenado for Castellanos.
Maybe sign Pham to a minor league contract with a NRI.
Victor
Walker
Burleson in the mix
Church backup
Noot traded
NC in right field
JW in LF
VS in CF
If Pham makes the team, he shares some time w JW and NC, but he’s mostly a backup. Church is a def replacement and spot starter. Burleson plays here and there in the OF.

Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
Unfortunately, we aren’t getting much for NA, so why not kill two birds with one stone and trade for NC? He has a higher upside than any of the FAs mentioned in the OP.Cardinals4Life wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 09:57 amOMG NO!!!!!!!ecleme22 wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 09:54 am Trade Arenado for Castellanos.

Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
I doubt if Philly will take on Arenado's full contract even up with the Cards taking on Castellanos $20 MM salary for next year. Castellanos has been on a steady offensive decline for three years now, and his defense is bad also. The Pham era in St. Louis is over.ecleme22 wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 09:54 am Trade Arenado for Castellanos.

Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
Bader. Not for nostalgia, but because he fits a need and can be flipped at the deadline potentially.
He can play plus defense at all 3 OF spots, can hit LHP well, can run, and is a good clubhouse guy for the kids to be around.
He'd make the most sense of all the names mentioned.
And whoever suggested Nick Castellanos, please stop. A no defense washed slugger for a GG caliber 3B washed slugger? Why?

That’s funny. A year ago Bader’s bat was washed up. Now apparently he’s this super talented player who the rookies love!Basil Shabazz wrote: ↑24 Dec 2025 11:01 am Bader. Not for nostalgia, but because he fits a need and can be flipped at the deadline potentially.

For NC: the team needs a RHH OFer and they want out of the NA contract, which has two more years. NC, in contrast, has one more year, which makes him easily flippable.
Harrison [fork]ing Bader is looking for a two year contract around 28mil. Please come back with resaonable suggestion….

Re: Cards Looking for RHH OF
I hope while they are looking for a RHH to play OF they look behind home plate. They have a LF waiting to happen hiding there.

If a trade for more longevity can not had.
it's works.
NA for NC can stand alone.
If any of the talk about Seattle holds true.
Arroyo has some intrigue. Not a big power hitter
but 20-25 maybe
