I don't believe we are trading Binnington yet, but it's nice to know Zherenko is hot. I wish Buffalo would put Ellis on waivers.

It would be a shame if nostalgia costs the Blues assets but your probably right

You know Binner plays great and has better focus when he's (upset). Hopefully, we get on a run like last year. We need two goalies playing well to do that. I don't want to waste assets, but winning only drives their value up.

If you're gonna trade Binner, in order to get maximum return, it's got to be at the TDL and to a team that's basically a goalie away from winning the Cup. Now, you could say that about a lot of teams, as a hot goalie has led more than a few teams to a cup, but, thanks to the 4-Nations tournament, everyone in the world now knows what Blues fans have known for years: when the game is biggest, so is Jordan.

Move him at the TDL when he's on a heater, no reason you couldn't get a 1st round pick and an NHL-ready player. Also need to get the GAA in the 2's and sv pct over .900 if for no better reason than optics.

The decision point on Binner is really next season's TDL. I wouldn't be inclined to move him too early unless overwhelmed by an offer. Same with Faulk. The prospects behind them aren't beating down the door.

No way binner gets us a first rounder much less a first rounder and nhl ready player.

I'm ok with trading Binner but it should have 0 to do with whether Zherenko is hot for a minute.

If he plays for Team Canada and his performance is a big reason they win the gold, he could possibly net an even bigger return.

But let's say he doesn't play in the Olympics. Imagine it's early March, a few days before the TDL, Binner has gotten hot and posts something like a 2.0 GAA and .935 sv pct over his past 7-10 games both before and after the O-games. Any team desperate for a Cup, say their #1 goalie goes down, Oilers, Canes, Stars, Wild, Habs, Leafs, Isles, and let's say they're running away and on pace for 110+ pt season, and suddenly a Stanley Cup and 4-Nations tourney winner goalie is available and on the market.

H*ll yeah a Cup-starved team would give up a 1st rounder and NHL-ready player for him. It's just all about timing.

What you mean it’s not ok to judge a goalie because of a 3 game stretch?

Ellis has been out with a concussion. He hasn't played in about 2 weeks. Probably another week until he can play.
Tough, the kid needs to play. He's shown flashes of being good, but other times not so much.

I think Faulk and Schenn need to be dealt no matter what this TDL simply because they will not be here when the Blues go on their next run. Faulk is having a great year and his value will not be higher than it is now. They need to move on from Schenn and start giving minutes to youth. It’s interesting how Berggren and Stenberg have impacted the roster in a short period of time. I would rather they make room for guys like Carbonneau and Jiricek next.

I would not want to see them trade Binnington until next TDL as well simply because you don’t get rid of your franchise best goalie unless it’s for a huge overpayment that makes you better now and later.

Hofer has absolutely passed Binnington and its not close. Sure we could see Binnie get hot after the Olympics kinda his typical shtick but clearly Hofer can carry the load now and Zherenko can be a viable back up.
