Whether or not you like Fitts, Dobbins (and even May), this is rare...

This offseason, Bloom traded for TWO STARTERS 27 years old or younger, who are both penciled in as starters this following season. I researched the Cards teams from 1978-2025, and found only one instance where this occurred (1978):
1978
Silvio Martinez (22)
Pete Vuckovich (25)
1981
Larry Sorenson (25)
1982
Steve Mura (27)
1983
Neil Allen (25)
1986
Tim Conroy (26)
1988
Jose DeLeon (27)
1999
Garrett Stephenson (27)
2004
Jason Marquis (25)
2005
Mark Mulder (27)
2018
John Gant (25)

Regarding Dustin May, I didn't look as close, but I think the last FA starter (outside the org) signed under 30 years old who was expected to be in the rotation the following season was Kyle Lohse. Sydney Ponson too. But there weren't a lot before them...

The last time the Cardinals ADDED three starters 28 or under to the rotation who were with another organization the previous year? No idea...But I don't think in the last 50 or 60 years...Maybe not ever...

As long as I don’t have to see Mikolas and Pallante starting every 5th day, I’m happy.

Good research!
There figures to be some drop off after you trade productive vets.
But as you infer....they sacrificed age for youth.
That’s all you can do/try.
Now it has to play out.
Merry Christmas!
