Not sure what happened to Seattle and I know he doesn't like this report, but until he surfaces again, here you go...

St in Mn has me pretty excited about rugged prospect Dman Arseny Koromyslov. I hope he comes over soon and wins a job and at least takes Tucker or Kessel’s place. Even tho he doesn’t have much offensive upside, the Blues could definitely use, and need, his size, grit, snarl etc.

There are a few candidates Colin Ralph, Fischer and the Russian going to be an interesting mix that includes Mailloux

Yeah we've got some Russian prospects who look legit. Kind of off the radar, so will feel like a pleasant surprise if any of them make it.

If we could hit big on one of them...

Koromyslov 4th round - 22 years old, KHL, 6'5, 13pts in 34g, Perhaps similar to Mikkola?

Fyodorov 5th round, 19, KHL, small skilled winger, 10pts in 27games

Vorobyov 7th round, 23, winger, 15pts in 16 VHL games, 1pt in 6 KHL games (26pts in 60 KHL games last season)

Korotky 7th round - 19, RH C, KHL, 15pts in 20g, currently indisclosed injury after 5pts in his last 5 games. This guy appears to be the real deal at Center. Can he be a Datsyuk-like steal for the Blues?

Here's the "undisclosed injury" - went awkwardly into the boards, helped off, hasn't played since Oct 31 https://x.com/M_Meyer3/status/1990052662365303078

Agreed, and Im very aware of them too (especially Fischer after Seattle’s viewings and high praise of his ruggedness and potential), but I focused on Koromyslov cause he seems to be the forgotten Dman when discussing our prospects, plus he’s a little older and could hypothetically be ready sooner, unless his KHL contract is prohibitive.

Nice, thanks for the links. Seems like or commie buddies are more of longshots compared to the rest of our prospects, in relation to where they were drafted at least, but theres definitely some exciting potential in a couple of em from what all ive read here and elsewhere.

As it is i think the Blues are a calendar year away perhaps from a pretty exciting team as some of these guys start to pop

Does anyone know what Koromyslov's contract situation is in the KHL? When would he be free to come to North America?

lol it's fine, it's at least some roundup info.

when we watch Jiricek this WJC, pay attention to his fellow 17 year old Dravecky who I assume is also on the Czech team. I have been seeing plenty of him, he is going to go very high in the draft

Koromyslov’s contract ends at the end of this KHL season. In his chat with JR a week or so ago, Tim Taylor even floated the idea of him maybe getting some games in with the T-birds at the end of this season. It’d probably all depend on when his KHL season ends and if the T-birds are still playing then or not. But either way, sounds like he should be heading to N.A. soon.

That said, I don’t want to overhype him. I think he absolutely has NHL potential but I don’t see him as a big difference maker. He’s steady, big, mean and defensively responsible…but brings near zero offense. Maybe a 3rd pairing guy after some time to adapt to N.A. hockey in Springfield first.

I enjoyed the article in the Athletic about him. He’s also in the 2nd PP unit for Branford.
