Gray for May saved $7.5M and netted 2 prospects: Fitts and Clarke.

They owed Gray $40M/1yr or $65M/2yr.

They are now paying Gray $20M/0yr and May $12.5M/1yr for a total of $32.5M/1yr.

May won't likely cover all of the innings Gray would have covered, but Fitts + May together should get those innings covered.

The question was about our 29th ranked offense.

For a team that is supposed to be rebuilding there sure is a lot of building that isn’t happening. We did not even send a top five prospect to AFL if I’m not mistaken.

Then everyone got tired and couldn’t wait for the season to be over around Sept 15. JJW never got promoted. Just went home when Memphis was done. Doyle got all of 3 IP. No one of significance went to AFL either.

I get that we have to handle pitchers with kid gloves and be afraid they might break but hitters need to hit. Probably year round until they perfect the art.

There hasn’t been much notable progress in our farms physical development for 13 weeks now, while creative options are out there.

I respectfully disagree on multiple fronts.

Hitting cannot be perfected.

Nobody should hit 12 months a year.

JJ not getting promoted is not that big a deal. He’s either going to be successful or he won’t, and not getting called up will not be the reason either way

Doyle pitched a full college season and nearly doubled his innings in 2025 from 2024. He did not need to pitch more.

Maybe it would have been nice to send some guys to the AFL, but to indict the entire farm system bc of that doesn’t make any sense.

There has certainly been improvement over 13 weeks. Guys are working out, they probably have been hitting for weeks now. Just because you don’t see them playing games does not mean they’re not getting better

We all know what a rebuild is. Also we know they often don’t work out. Expect to be disappointed by the returns from these trades until they actually prove something at the MLB level.
