It doesn’t take an expert to see this trade is underwhelming! But since you’re such an expert I’m glad you like the deal!RamFan08NY wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 19:27 pmAll of a sudden every fan in CT is an expert GM, and minor league talent scout.
If the Cards were trading for WC, would you want them to surrender a top 5 talent? ......didn't think so.

Fajardo looks like a pretty good get....we'll see. Not familiar with the other guys.

Re: Contreras to Red Sox
Contreras also had a NTC and preferred to stay would waive it only for a very limited number of teams so that severely limited blooms options. Same with gray so to draw the conclusion he can’t work with anyone else from that is crazyRamFan08NY wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 19:32 pmIt has been reported all along that Boston was the top player in the game for WC.
I haven't read that other teams refuse to deal with him. If what you say is fact, that is concerning.
Re: Contreras to Red Sox
1B Herrera
LF Burleson
CF Scott
RF Nootbaar
DH Walker
Is what they should do. Which means they won't.

Re: Contreras to Red Sox
2 more years of probably team leading production. And some Jersey and ticket sales.
Re: Contreras to Red Sox
I was hoping they’d keep WC but at almost 34 probably wise to deal now?
Lots of questions of course....BUT....he HAS to be the first Yhoiker to be part of the organization.

I have no problem with him dealing with Boston, other than, are we sure he still isn’t working for them?Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 19:36 pmContreras also had a NTC and preferred to stay would waive it only for a very limited number of teams so that severely limited blooms options. I mean, Boston has a lot of good prospects and MLB ready players who are currently blocked. But we get a guy who has torn his ACL. “ twice” , and projects to be a #4, at best starter!
I can’t believe some of you people actually approve of this deal.
I’ve always been against him Trading Donovan, but now I’m terrified of what that return will look like!

Management clearly has no expectation of fan support for the next two years.
Re: Contreras to Red Sox
Well then get someone else for LF, I don't care about that part. Point is they should throw Walker's glove in the trash and let him focus on mashing.cardinalsfever44 wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 19:41 pmI don't ever want to see Burly or Herrera in LF. Ever.

Re: Contreras to Red Sox
If you want MLB ready, Dobbins was good enough to be in the Red Sox rotation last year and pitched very well before his injury in his rookie campaign. There is potential there for a mid-rotation guy, which would be a good get.Hoosier59 wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 19:43 pmI have no problem with him dealing with Boston, other than, are we sure he still isn’t working for them?Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 19:36 pmContreras also had a NTC and preferred to stay would waive it only for a very limited number of teams so that severely limited blooms options.
