Re: Any love for Mailloux?
I thought he's looked exceptional the last 2 games.
Re: Any love for Mailloux?
He has some nastiness to his game lately. It’s good to see

Gets caught positionally, but he is establishing himself.
Shoots, pinches in, vinegar. Looking good recently.
Should grow into a fine defenseman.

He’s surprisingly has become solid with his defense game (far from perfect). We are still waiting to show his strength, which is his offensive game. It wasn’t until after the AHL demotion did he start to show a spurt or shot here or there but still not effective at all in the 0-zone
With Fowler, Colt, Broberg, and Tucker looking very lost offensively, I’m looking forward to his bomb of a shot and jumping in effectively

Re: Any love for Mailloux?
I think this trade is going to go quite well.
Re: Any love for Mailloux?
I agree most of his progression has been on the D side which was his biggest question mark. But I have zero concerns about his offense, he has shown to be a heads up player with good vision with all the skills for that and it will come in due time.stlblue06 wrote: ↑20 Dec 2025 21:56 pm He’s surprisingly has become solid with his defense game (far from perfect). There's a HF thread on Bolduc and it's pretty interesting.....most are liking what they see but a lot of posters see an issue with his consistency and lacking 5/5.
The few comments on Mailloux are all negative seeing his ratings and +/- performance stats ....glad he's gone kind of thing.
Right now, I'd do the same trade all over again. I like the Blues position on this one and I like what I'm seeing from Logan.

It was a great trade from day one…it’s just gonna take some time. Young kid, barely any NHL experience coming from an organization that’s much more offensively minded game wise to an organization with a completely different style.

Thank you..patience was always the key with the trade, and Mailloux’s doing just fine, with lots more to come.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 08:06 amIt was a great trade from day one…it’s just gonna take some time. Re: Any love for Mailloux?
Agreed. My biggest worry with him was how long it’d take em to get better on the D side, so Im pleasantly surprised that he’s already made strides in that department so early in his career, what…35 games or less now?? I’ve never had doubts about his offense or his physical play, and I also am confident he’ll start scoring alot more in due time. His skating and passing is underrated, and his bomb of a shot is obvious.dhsux wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 08:05 amI agree most of his progression has been on the D side which was his biggest question mark. I say again...

I can remember a lot of negativity about Pietrangelo his first couple of years as he got bounced down to Juniors and the AHL..."bad pick...he's not good...he won't be good, etc." And I also remember on this Forum people questioning just a couple of years ago that "Bolduc won't be any good, he should be showing more, he doesn't have the strength, lacks defensive ability to achieve at this level, bad pick, etc."
Hey, Iike Bolduc a lot. Great skater, great hands. Sure I'm sorry he is gone. But we need size, skilled prospects for our D. Sure there is Lidstien, Ralph, Jiricek and others potentially, but Mailloux has the tools and is more physically developed right now.
The rush to write him off is tiring. He'll be fine.

I'd be interested to hear how much Prongers talks with him helped. I can remember someone asking CP what he thought the worst thing Mailloux could do for his career. His answer was basically listening to fans.

Does it drive anyone else batsh*t crazy when the term "They'll be fine" or "he'll be fine" is used to describe a team or individual in sports?
Or is it just me that's cuckoo?

It doesn't bother me in the least.

If you have to ask that question, then there's your answer.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 13:27 pm Does it drive anyone else batsh*t crazy when the term "They'll be fine" or "he'll be fine" is used to describe a team or individual in sports?
