Re: Avalanche
I know, right? I'd say the Blues' chances of winning a top-3 in the division are pretty close to nil at this point. But, hey, the Avs, Wild, and Stars beating up on everyone are the reason the putrid Blues (who are admittedly playing better of late) are somehow only 1 point out of a playoff spot.
lol, this season is a perfect example of why regulation wins need to be given 3 points. I'll admit, OT is very gimmicky but regardless, when a team has only won 14 of the 37 games they've played, they really shouldn't be a hair's breadth away from a playoff spot.

Re: Avalanche
Before they lost yesterday, Columbus was .500 and all 15 other teams in the East had a better record.
out West, nine teams arrayed between +1 and -3 in terms of wins minus regulation losses, that is a huge outlier from what is normally seen. Blues have the most regulation wins of this group which is first tiebreaker.
The 8th place team is likely getting the Avs round 1 at this rate. Avs are +23, Dallas +17, Minnesota +13, Vegas +9, Anaheim +8, Kings +5, Oilers +4.

Looking forward to the Av’s and Wild game at 5pm. Also wondering what else Guerin has in store…you know he’s not finished yet. If they stay healthy, I like the Wild heading into the playoffs.
Re: Avalanche
Man, I'd LOVE to squeak in this year, as long as we don't trade Binny. I'll take Colorado in the first round. All that pressure, ripe for a Boston/Tampa type exit.seattleblue wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 12:08 pm Before they lost yesterday, Columbus was .500 and all 15 other teams in the East had a better record.

Re: Avalanche
Avs record is pretty unreal. Just glad it's all happening in the first half of the year.
Yep if the blues get in and get a "second season" I don't care who they play all bets are off which means I don't care what the odds are either.

Re: Avalanche
Avs are playing out of their minds this year. The team to watch is Minny though. They are absolutely on a heater and I think they've won 7 or 8 in a row now. And they are mauling good teams. Took out the Oilers 5-2 the other night. Very well-balanced team if they stay healthy. They will give Dallas fits in the 1st round, if neither catches the Avs.
Re: Avalanche
IDK it’s st hard for me to consider Wild as a contender. They’ve had ma g good regular season stretches and have had really good goaltending this season from both guys. Hughes was a great pickup for themPierre McGuire wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 12:19 pm Looking forward to the Av’s and Wild game at 5pm. Re: Avalanche
Pretty even play first 3/4 game slight edge to Avs.....last 3-4 minutes almost all Avs. Hard on the puck heads are always up and it's relentless play after play is what I saw at end of period.
Lots of love for Vladdy from the booth he's been hot lately.

Re: Avalanche
Actually, I believe you might be misremembering. The Avs won Game 1 if I'm not mistaken, but the Blues seemed to figure them out in Game 2. By game 3, it was all Blues. The Blues completely dominated the Avs in the first period. And then terror struck ... and it all changed from there.juan good eye wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 17:44 pmWas that the only thing?TAFKAP wrote: ↑21 Dec 2025 12:42 pmThey don't have Kadri. But the boldfaced is overstated. Avs went 16-4 in the playoffs. By comparison, that would be 131 points in the regular season.
Blues were outshot 226-154 in the series; Blues outshot them in exactly one game 32-31 (game two). My bad memory is that Avs outshot every team by period, minus the Blues.
Simply a dynamo.

Nates 1st half is one of the best of all time.
Pacing for 142 points and +105
