Re: Could Joey Loperfido upgrade the Cardinals outfield?
No shady, just no.
Re: Could Joey Loperfido upgrade the Cardinals outfield?
I just reviewed some video of him. I really didn't know much about him until recently.
Re: Could Joey Loperfido upgrade the Cardinals outfield?
I'd like to see more names presented for discussion that Bloom might pursue that might help the Cardinals outfield. Within a reasonable possibility. The name that I keep coming back to is Jasson Dominguez of the Yankees. I believe he might be available.
Re: Could Joey Loperfido upgrade the Cardinals outfield?
Unfortunately, Jason and Joey will probably cost you prospects and or multiple players.
We shouldn’t be looking to get one guy back for multiple guys. That’s not where the organization is right now.
If you’re looking for outfield options, I would probably start with looking at free agent options that can be had for a one year deal
Re: Could Joey Loperfido upgrade the Cardinals outfield?
The thing about it. Bloom has some trade chips that he needs to move. I'm hoping he can maneuver some way to get some fairly young outfield help via trade/trades.ecleme22 wrote: ↑20 Dec 2025 15:50 pmUnfortunately, Jason and Joey will probably cost you prospects and or multiple players.

Yes, such as Miguel Andujar. He could be signed for about $5-7 MM for 1 year.ecleme22 wrote: ↑20 Dec 2025 15:50 pmUnfortunately, Jason and Joey will probably cost you prospects and or multiple players.

Re: Could Joey Loperfido upgrade the Cardinals outfield?
Why does he "need to move" trade chips? We're rebuilding....echo, echo. Once again, we're not ready to compete. We're not moving prospects, unless we get a much better prospect back.Shady wrote: ↑20 Dec 2025 15:54 pmThe thing about it. Bloom has some trade chips that he needs to move. Re: Could Joey Loperfido upgrade the Cardinals outfield?
I disagree. There is a need to move on from some older players to make way for some younger. For their opportunity to develop. Ex. Wetherholt and Saggese. Just curious, do you feel there is a place for Nootbaar in the rebuild? I feel he's another older player that needs to be moved. Bloom also needs to move a catcher, don't you think?craviduce wrote: ↑20 Dec 2025 16:49 pmWhy does he "need to move" trade chips? We're rebuilding....echo, echo. Nootbaar has nothing to do with you saying we needed to move Prospects to compete now.Shady wrote: ↑20 Dec 2025 17:30 pmI disagree. And Nootbaar isn't blocking Saggese or Wetherholt, so I don't get your points.

What are you smoking? I didn't say "we needed to move Prospects to compete now". Far from it.craviduce wrote: ↑20 Dec 2025 17:36 pmNootbaar has nothing to do with you saying we needed to move Prospects to compete now.Shady wrote: ↑20 Dec 2025 17:30 pmI disagree. Re: Could Joey Loperfido upgrade the Cardinals outfield?
I made the assumption you understood after all this time that the likes of Donovan, Contreras, Nado, and Nootbar would be moved for Prospects. And any major leaguer we "might" get back are salary offsets, or Innings filler for our questionable 2026 rotation. We're getting nothing of substance in the Major League realm. Certainly a team won't give us a good player back for our "Major League Trade Chips". To get good players, you have to trade your Prospect Trade Chips.Shady wrote: ↑20 Dec 2025 17:38 pmWhat are you smoking? I didn't say "we needed to move Prospects to compete now". Forgive me for assuming that you grasped that realization.
We're gathering assets (prospects) to trade in 2028...outside chance for 2027, but I don't think that's in the plans...unless the 2026 offense somehow makes a gigantic leap in production....not likely when you lose the 4 I mentioned above.

Depends on the give. How high is can his price beecleme22 wrote: ↑20 Dec 2025 15:50 pmUnfortunately, Jason and Joey will probably cost you prospects and or multiple players.

when he is being called a player not good enough?
Joey may not represent the upside that we would all love
but he does hit the profile as far as not being a FA until 2031.
Him not being a starter on Toronto's WS team should not warrant a
tremendous amount of critic when Cards starters would be challenged
to get PT there too. Seems a little inconsistent when players in AA can
be seen as prize. I understand he'll be 27 so not ideal, but there is
control through most of his prime.
