Orioles interested in JoJo

I'll take one of these, please:

Juaron Watts‑Brown (RHP, Double‑A/Triple‑A track)
Acquired from Toronto for Domínguez; power slider/whiff profile; age 23.

Projects as a rotation‑capable arm with swing‑and‑miss stuff; aligns with Cards’ need for controllable pitching depth.
Acquisition note: Came as a single‑prospect return in a high‑leverage RP deal; Orioles valued him as a top‑10 org prospect post‑trade. [si.com],

Boston Bateman (LHP, Padres deal)
Part of the Padres package for Laureano/O’Hearn; top‑10 org prospect.

Lefty starter profile with upside; complements a system light on high‑ceiling left‑handed starting prospects.
Acquisition note: Headliner among multiple prospects O’s received at the deadline. Also has a dope name

I suspect if JoJo is traded as a stand alone player in a deal that we will be disappointed.

Yup. I think the best we could hope for would be like what we got from Texas for Maton.

Perhaps. If it was me, and it took including Romero in a trade with Donovan to get a more elite prospect, I would rather them do that rather than trade Romero straight up and maybe get a lottery ticket.

But, I guess Baltimore just gave up a pretty good haul for Baz, so maybe they'd get stupid and give us something decent for Romero.

Orioles finished in last place. Shouldn’t they be rebuilding? How does JoJo help them get to the playoffs out of the AL East?

Have you not seen all of the other moves they made?

It still won’t get them past the Yankees or Blue Jays. Or probably even the Red Sox. Meanwhile, if the Cardinals would make those kinds of investments, it would get us a lot further most years in the NL Central.

Another high velo arm would be wonderful.

Quick! Let's trade our best lefty reliever! Got to cut that salary. We can always find a warm body to give up runs and guarantee the team loses.
