Yoann Damet.
Doesn't appear to have much head coaching experience but has been in the coaching rooms of some successful clubs. He's young, he's French, let's give him a shot.

I’m not sure how much it’ll matter with a payroll that ranked in the bottom 3rd.todd-parker wrote: ↑16 Dec 2025 18:39 pm Yoann Damet.

Expansion team San Diego had a team salary 26% greater than 3rd Year team, StL CITY SC. For some reason, Miami was able to spend almost 3x more ($50M) than CITY, despite the league having a salary cap. Can anyone make sense of that?
The MLS Cup featured two teams with star European players. Müller scored 7 Goals and added 3 Assists in just 6 Starts w/Vancouver! His individual offensive production dwarfed StL CITY SC’s as a whole.
If you want CITY to win, they have to spend and bring in one of those European ballers who can make a difference on the pitch.

League is definitely going to suffer if the only successful teams are the ones that can attract and afford a top International player (retiree). Perhaps City SC will be in that position when Erling Haaland is ready to come over in 10 years.BleedingBleu wrote: ↑17 Dec 2025 19:58 pmI’m not sure how much it’ll matter with a payroll that ranked in the bottom 3rd.todd-parker wrote: ↑16 Dec 2025 18:39 pm Yoann Damet.

I know the cost of living along with state taxes is much higher in San Diego but I don't know how high.BleedingBleu wrote: ↑17 Dec 2025 19:58 pm I’m not sure how much it’ll matter with a payroll that ranked in the bottom 3rd.

For your comment to be significant, you need to tell us if it's higher or lower than 26%.

Was I supposed to? MLS Team Salaries - Spotrac
San Diego - $22.5M
St Louis CITY SC - $17.8M
Why don’t you go look up the taxes and see how much more San Diego spent on their roster… considering the fact California has substantially higher taxes.
If you think the MLS applies a salary cap correction for California teams, because they need to spend more on their roster to accommodate taxes, then you must explain why the San Jose Earthquake had a lower overall team salary obligation than CITY SC
