LAS VEGAS – Jake Allen made 36 saves to give the New Jersey Devils a 2-1 shootout victory against the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena on Wednesday.
“Nothing was getting by Jake tonight,” Devils coach Sheldon Keefe said. “That was a great performance by him. … When you have that type of goaltending, you’re going to have a real good chance.”
Bratt scored the only goal in the shootout with a Toropchenko type move.
I like what the Devils have done with their roster i used to be a huge Devils AND Islanders fan back in the day but even with their skill level i dont see them as a Cup threat still.
Nemec, Hughes (x2), Hirschier, goes to the point that just because you picked "top 5" .... ...

Who would think the Blues could win a game 1 - 0 right now?
That's crazy. Atta boy Hofer!
Good game Blues.
That’s the ONLY way they can win. If the other team scores more than 2 we’re cooked
Last night felt different. Regular season Connor was in full form with some big stops.
I heard on the radio post game that Stenberg/Devo/Wiaver guy had around 85% puck possession and 12-0 in scoring chances while on the ice. Incredible game from a line that had 2 Blues debuts, an NHL debut, and a 20 year old rookie that joined the team 5 weeks into the season!!

For what in my eye is the first time we saw Dvorsky approach the expectations of a top-9 center last night. IF he continues on an upward trajectory the worm might turn. That's really the only hope I see. I suppose Neighbours or Thomas or Buchnevich could go hat trick or start scoring consistently but I'm not holding my breath.

Yeah it’s not like Thomas ever went on a run where he was a 1-2 point per game player for 2-4 months straight before. Oh wait he’s done that each of the past 2 seasons. Same with Buch at a 1 point per game average

Berrgrenn and Stenberg looked really good!! They better stay up for the time being… stilll not liking when Matt Kessel is playing he is not good with the puck a Turnover machine
Agree on Kessel. It is like his stick and the puck have undiagnosed allergies!
I like Tucker better than Kessel, but the fact is neither are regulars. This team lacks a veteran bottom pair Dman. And for the record, I’m glad it’s not Leddy, as it was time for him to go.
I like tucks, he’s still a young kid and brings the pain most nights and is not afraid to shoot

We need Tucker out there, especially if the rest of the team continues to play the way they did in this game.
Otto Stenberg was a force. He was a puck hound. All over the place. He is a machine--skating was awesome. Hockey sense off the charts.
Army drafted a lot of smart two way players.
I like Kessel better than Tucker.
Hoping Otto and Dvo can bring it again today.

That’s great, but we could still use a game breaker

we all agree.
i prefer one who is not a soul-killer.
this team is rolling four lines with average NHL talent. But they skate their donkeys off and make smart plays, even if it means taking a hit or skating near scary opponents

Don’t you ever give it a rest? He hasn’t played in a month and you STILL rag on him.
